Guns don’t kill people, popcorn kills people. Or maybe it’s texting. Or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time with some fool who thinks he needs to take a gun to the movies.

When I first read this story, I got the same impression cuban leaf did.

However, that power tripping ex-cop wasn’t right in his actions either. None of this had to happen, a simple thing turned deadly because of attitudes.

Maybe I missed some stuff or gleaned stuff that was not there. I thought there was something about him throwing popcorn on the guy.

This is interesting. I know hundreds of people who carry a handgun legally every day. I do not know anyone who has used their handgun to harm another person. I also know a few hundred people who have vaginas. That I know of not one of them is a prostitute.

It could be said that ex over trained swat type thug cops with guns kill people.

But since many other types of people own guns and do not kill people the problem is the ex over trained swat type thug cop and not the fire arm that is the problem.

Maybe it proves that cops and ex-cops are primed to shoot - and thus shouldn’t be allowed to carry guns, like in jolly olde England...

Last I read, 1 in every 17 Michiganders has a concealed carry permit. That doesn’t include open carriers and long guns which reach into the millions.

...guys with guns... ... the texting guy...

The urban media finds the words man and men icky. The word guy takes the edge off. It's part of the emasculation that occurs in high density urban areas. City life is for women and fags hoping to meet a rich prince "guy" and live happily ever after. And we are hoping they never leave their sewered castle.

Especially when you’re the captain that formed their first SWAT team, first he has to pose like someone who needs a football stadium to shake the drizzle off his schnizzel, second he’s going to be more motivated than the average badgewearer to jump down the throat of any pissing contest that came along. You don’t say “no” to the “P. O.”.

“Expected.”

Yep, and oh so predictable. Amazing how this “journalist” ignores the thousands of justified uses by CCW holders, versus the minuscule number of misuses. Beyond that, this shooter was an ex-cop who could probably carry in a lot of states that don’t issue CCW permits to most folk.

I hope the shooter in this case gets what he deserves, but this incident does nothing to invalidate concealed carry as a desirable thing in general.

I wondered if the shooter was a registered Democrat or not. No one has said. Since its been not reported I am going out on a limb and state he’s a registered Democrat.

Cars kill far more people than guns.

Maybe all cops should be on foot or horseback?

I think what it proves is that ex cops with a bad attitude are primed to use their guns. The worst nightmare of regular folks who CC is that they will have to shoot someone.

The same people justifying the death penalty for popcorn would be crucifying the victim right now if he'd defended himself with a handgun. The Textfinder General would be lauded as a selfless hero who died saving a theater full of people against a berserk gunman.

If I said he shot him down like a dog, that would be overly dramatic. But he went straight to the police book of loopholes with a perfectly calm demeanor as if he'd done nothing even as significant as shooting a dog. "I shot him."

He knew what he would do, he knew what he would say, but I think he may mistake the outcome.

My scenario (having no knowledge of the facts is that a career as a cop caused a mental disorder that rendered incapable of coping with total open disrespect.

This question should cause us to ask what we can do to change our culture of how cops are treated that causes them to suffer from this.

Its also related to the high unpunished rate of spousal abuse by cops.

Sometimes it’s A-holes with chips on their shoulders that kill people.

100 million gun owners killed no one yesterday. The “authors” argument is invalid...

Plus, the shooter was retired LAW ENFORCEMENT. The very folks this idiot thinks are the only ones who should have guns in our Society...

“....maintain that a gun, no matter who carries it, is going to drive the wearer to kill someone.”

That’s typical liberal projection.
