'Why didn't he just sit somewhere else?'
The Sheriff leading the investigation into the cinema shooting which happened after a row over texting has told MailOnline there is no chance of a Stand Your Ground defence, saying, It was an empty movie theatre. If he was scared why didnt he move seats?.
Sheriff Chris Nocco has completely dismissed shooter Curtis Reeves claims that he gunned down Chad Oulson because he feared for his safety and said there is no way he can use Floridas controversial self-defence law.
He is convinced the retired cop, 71, simply lost his temper after married father-of-one Oulson refused to stop texting and then threw a bag of popcorn at his killers face.
Reeves attorney Richard Escobar suggested on Wednesday that his client was not hit with popcorn and was actually attacked with another more dangerous object.
However Sheriff Nocco has completely dismissed that idea, saying nothing else was thrown and that Mondays shooting is an open and shut case....
One of the key elements is that the theater was not packed so there was ample opportunity for anybody to move their seat if they wanted to....
Today Richard Escobar was quoted as saying something more than popcorn was thrown.
He told The Tampa Bay Times: If it was popcorn, don't you think the detective would have written popcorn? It's an unknown object, dark in color. Those facts will come out.
But Nocco hit back: There is absolutely nothing to prove anything else was thrown.....

It comes back to the fact that if you’re carrying,
you have a MORAL OBLIGATION to go out of your way
to avoid conflict.
This man sought it out, and it was due to his elitist
“AUTHORITAH”
mentality.
Well they should be embarrassed, this is another set back for the right to carry a gun for your own defense.
Makes you wonder what the ex-cop’s wife was doing during this time.
Why wasn’t she restraining her husband???
No matter what he does, I think he's going away for a long time.
Well there’s another question. Sounds like he was alone, and that he went to movies alone on a regular basis. WTH does that? Was he seeking this stuff out for thrills?
You can believe it or not, but that guy [Reeves] was going to kill someone over texting. It might have not been that day, it might not be next week or next month. The hatred, frustration, and contempt of those he considered inferior to him was eating him alive. The peasants that had the audacity and gall to refuse to bow down to his authority. That day, everything came together, and the results are there for all to see.
She was sitting next to him and could have moved over a few seats when he went to talk to management — but she didn’t.
She had to have known that he was carrying.
She could have put her hand over his as it reached into the pocket for the gun — but she didn’t.
She was probably enjoying the show and even egging him on.
If I remember correctly some states allow retired police officers to carry without taking the class.
It seems that all cops — retired and not retired — need to take that class:
How NOT to Shoot Someone [or their Dog]
I have respect for the police because that is how I was raised but I do NOT worship it and I can clearly see when they are out of bounds.
Raisinets?
Milk Duds..
this is what happens when two *ssholes cross paths.
The UFO has been identified as a Junior Mint!
It would be interesting to find out if he carried all the time or just when he went to theatres —
There fixed it.
throwing ANY object at another person’s face is also a no no so this gives the reasonable doubt opening.
assuming this fails, he will claim “cop syndrome”.
She knew him well. -- She didn't want to be shot.
I grew up when the policeman was considered a friend. When if one was having a dispute, one could call on them to help settle it. If one had a wayward child, they would counsel with said child. If one needed advice or guidance, they would provide it. Sadly, to me anyway, that is no longer the case. They [the police] have been indoctrinated to we, the citizenry, are the enemy. No distinction is made between the law abiding or the criminal element. We [the lawabiding] are to be treated as criminals they haven’t had the opportunity to arrest. That is where we stand at this point in time. It took me a long time and a lot of being talked down to by them to realize it. But I finally got the message.
The more I think about it. The more I mull over it. The more I come to the conclusion that he was out to kill someone and would not stop until he did.
morality is not legal obligation is not ethical obligation.
The law stats hitting another with an object is a battery. was it reasonable to throw popcorn into the face of a stranger?
