Game between Broncos and the mis-named Patriots, from leftist Boston, is about to start. Living in Colorado I will be rooting for Manning against reported liberal Brady. Just knowing that John F'n Kerry will be rooting for his "Patriots" makes me want the Broncos to win even more. Who are other FReeper football fans rooting for?
It should be a shootout, but you never know. Perfect weather in Denver today - foggy and cool here in the Puget Sound region for my Seahawks who have their hands full against a hot SF team.
It’s a shame the FCC won’t let us make a friendly wager over the Internet.
I hope your prediction comes true!
I may be able to hear the roars as the stadium is 8 miles from me in Golden.
For non football fans, it’s a good day to go to Home Depot or Costco.
Broncos. But I support teams based on person connections or geographical region and not the politics of specific players. There is actually life outside politics. :-)
Neither (one can hope).
Brady. He doesn’t choke on the big one.
Patriots all the way. I imagine all the Denver players will be high as kites with bright red bloodshot eyes. Manning will probably get into the wrong huddle.
Very interesting analogy
I’m sure John Kerry is all in for his favorite team, the Boston Patriots, and his favorite player, Brady Belichick.
And not everyone from MA is a Liberal a-hole. Some of us are stuck here and dislike it as much as you do. Tone it down a bit.
Peyton Manning gave Hoosiers something to brag about. I will always honor him for that, but now Tom Brady is the only hope for those of us east of the Mississippi. GO PATRIOTS!
Pats have been going with a running game, so not so much “Brady.” I hope it’s a close game. I’m rooting for the Pats, even though I have a dislike for Belicheck.
Manning, hands down. He is a compassionate, charitable man, off the field. And I just saw where he is the most respected player by his peers. Looks to be HIS year, to win it all...then walk away from the game, with head held high. Would be nice to see a storybook ending to a great career.
I’m from New Orleans and I love Manning (except when ne’s playing against the Saints)but I think Brady is going to win this battle.
Colorado is more and more liberal every day. Hardly even a swing state anymore. Libs can pretty much count on it to come through for them.
If you believe the news reports coming out of Colorado, most of the fans attending the game won’t know who won for a couple of weeks after the game ends. Happy smoke sales have skyrocketed since the Patriots fans arrived in town.
I always want to see Belly-Puke lose after what he and Modell did to us here in Cleveland.
I’m not a football fan, but for what it’s worth, one of my sons who works in Boston gave me a model dwarf for Christmas, all dressed up in warm clothes, bushy beard, with a patriot helmet in one hand and a snow shovel in the other.
Maybe that’s an omen.
Para by one
“I imagine all the Denver players will be high as kites with bright red bloodshot eyes. Manning will probably get into the wrong huddle.”
Your imaginary game sounds like it has the potential of being better than the real game. Where can I tune in?
My Panthers are out so my heart isn’t in it, however....I think Manning is a decent type. I detest that smirking priss Brady. So, go Denver.
Bob Kraft is a definite Obama funder, not as much as the Rooneys in Pittsburgh, but thousands of dollars nonetheless.
Not sure about the Denver ownership.
Not too crazy about Brady, but I despise the Manning brothers. Vote Brady!
You are right. Those escaping liberal Californians are voting to do the same here in Colorado. But, we did recall two anti-gun state senators this year!
Jimmie Johnson? or Matt Kenseth?
Some people are just tough to beat. Manning for sure.
Woo hooo!!! Kenny’s back!!!
Can't speak for Eli, but Peyton Manning in his time in Indy was as stand-up of a guy as you could ask for. I'm not a Colts fan, and despise the Irsays, but cheer for PM. And he donates to Republicans, which makes him a tiny minority among NFL players, coaches, and executives.
As a Browns fan I cannot root for Denver even with Peyton. But Belichick is on the other side so I must remain neutral and just watch the game.
Manning. For myriad reasons.
Tommy will throw a tantrum and fly the F word at everyone!!!!
such a “I love myself guy”
Ha! Daytona 500 coming up!
Manning has been hot even with that bobble.
today’s games ...
No real rooting interest in either team other than it could PO the east coast sports cabal if no east coast team is in the Super Bowl. Go West! ;o)
Never could understand the thrill of watching souped-up cars drive around in circles for hours. :-/
I’m not rooting for anyone but I am picking San Fran and Denver to win today.
But I’m lousy with my football picks so it will probably be Seattle vs. NE in the Super Bowl.
Never let politics interfere with entertainment, life is too short. Anyway Kerry probably has no idea who his regional team is. Meanwhile never bet against Belichick and Brady, they’re just too lethal a combination, especially going against Manning.
As a Browns fan I cannot root for Denver even with Peyton.
Never liked the Broncos, especially Elway when the Colts drafted him and he told them to go to hell. Spoiled brat. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth Eli Manning did the same with the San Diego Chargers.
Tom Brady on the other hand appears to be a staunch conservative.
I’m taking the Broncos for the win, followed by the 49ers in an upset over the Seahags. I truly hate to root for a team from San Fransicko but plenty of friends and family are 49ers fans so I’ll go with their flow and cheer for the team without supporting their city.
On a separate but related note, I’ve always wondered why an NFL team doesn’t have 2 quarterbacks on the field, one taking the snap and the other - perhaps a running QB - available to get a pitch or handoff and have the ability to run or throw. It would force the defense to try to cover for a lot more options and would seem to provide an additional “out” for the primary quarterback if he’s getting pressured in the pocket. Simply dish the ball to the secondary QB and let him make the play. FReeper thoughts?
OMAHA!!!! Yep every time he says it there is a good amount of money going to his favorite charity. I forget how much and the charity.
Hey RD232! How are things going? Did you move from Mississippi?
