How many of you knew there was a four hour rule?

It is a duplicate thread. You must wait 4 hours to re-post the same article for it not to be automatically pulled as a duplicate.

Find a similar article or wait 4 hours.

“The point is they don’t want you commenting on certain religious topics.”

You can comment all you want about Mormons though.

The question of duplicate posts is covered by the Admin Moderator in this short 9 reply thread from July 16, 2013 linked below. . .

“Duplicate posts of articles are OK as long as they aren’t real close to each other.”

Very disappointing for the Catholic-bashing freepers.

Actually, seeing as they post far far articles then it applies to them far more. And when you post 10+ articles daily advertising an elitist church with a cultic following that sees anything that impugns Rome in the least as "Catholic-bashing," then they should not complain when challenged.

I get the rule. It’s wrong.

The 4 hour rule is right, as it cuts down on duplicates, and many forums would not allow any duplicates. The caucus rule is also reasonable, as it ensures civil discussion among those of like mind.

But Catholic caucus threads rarely get more than a few posts, as opposed to up to many thousands on ones that are not, due to such being be challenged, by God's grace.

awww……you’re disappointed!

Church founded by Jesus, himself, is not elitist, but the one true church.

You very statement indicts it as being elitist, and in competition with other sola ecclesia churches which also claim the same. What is the the basis for your assurance that Rome is that OTC?

What I have noticed is that groups which use the caucus function often tend to bring the same form of discussion along to open threads. Meaning the assertions you see in a caucus environment tend to migrate to open threads. When an assertion is challenged, the usual caucus poster responds with assertions instead of debate.

We are also seeing some groups who never used the caucus in the past attempt to use the caucus to avoid debate. That is fine but those “newer” groups have issues discussing their group issues without contrasting it with other groups; which in effect negates the caucus.

Just an observation, and why I will most likely never use a caucus. If one cannot defend their position in an open thread, then I see that as a problem.

What I would like to see at FR and especially in the RF is a “bozo function” which is used at other sites I frequent. It allows one to block seeing some posters comments and helps combat trolls and cleans up threads a bit. However, those other sites do not have the close moderation we see here and probably why we don’t have that function here.
