The Muslim Association of Britain has expressed its anger at offensive cartoons about the prophets Jesus and Muhammad.
British Muslim organization, the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), has reacted angrily to a website that published a series of satirical cartoons featuring the prophet Jesus and the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them both).
Describing the content of the Jesus and Mo website as "extremely offensive to believers" in Al-Ahram Online on Tuesday, the MAB questioned the wisdom of any individual or organization that places at risk the dignity and values of anyone else, even if they might not hold those values.
In 2005, Denmarks Jyllands-Posten newspaper published offensive cartoons of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), spreading a wave of protests across the Muslim world. Islamophobic critics defended the cartoons under the argument that they were exercising their freedom of speech, while counter-critics said that freedom of speech does not amount to the freedom to insult.
Mass campaigns to raise awareness of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by Muslims increased throughout Europe and the West in general following the cartoons.
Sometimes I wonder who the lunatics really are.
Wrestling is fake.
A line from the song, “BLOODY MARY” in the film “SOUTH PACIFIC” comes to mind: “Now ain’t that too damned bad?!”
Cartoons!?
This is the kind of thing that causes outraged Muslims to attack US embassies.
I’ve never heard of a “devout” Muslim that had any respect for any other culture, custom or religion. To believe they care about what is said or shown about Jesus is laughable. Muslim’s hate Christians. At least that is what all the leaders of their faith say.
They believe Jesus is theirs.
“freedom of speech does not amount to the freedom to insult.”
I thought that was exactly what it was.
The objected to the Christians not being labelled as pigs and dogs, which is their custom.
Funny stuff http://www.jesusandmo.net
They could have stopped there.
bttt
I have not seen the cartoon, but there is something exquisite about it. It includes both Jesus and Mohammad. While Christians may get upset, Muslims will go crazy. Yet, if Christians do not act out, why should Muslims be allowed to do so? Why should they be allowed to prevent free speech?
They say he was a prophet and not a saviour, say they believe in him but deny his teachings.same with moses. 10 commandments mean nothing to their camel morality, but say mohamm is the completion of Jesus, Christ said it best, all who deny me as the son and saviour are liars and thieves.
The Koran incorporated some persons from both the Old and New Testament: Moses, whom they call Musa; Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael, Jesus (whom they call ISSA) and his mother (Maryam) but they have rejected the actual OT and NT themselves, saying (without a shred of evidence) that the texts have been falsified by the Jews and the Christians.
Thus, in their own version, they say that Abraham was tested to sacrifice Ishmael (not Isaac); that Moses was a Muslim (not a Jew); that Issa (Jesus) was a great prophet, second to Muhammad, but was not the Son of God and did not die on the cross.
The Koran appropriated the names, but not the text; and not the truth.
