Tiger Woods made his 2014 debut in a most dubious fashion - his first trip to Torrey Pines without sticking around until Sunday.
Woods went seven straight holes making bogey or worse and wound up with a 7-over 79 in the Farmers Insurance Open to match his worst score on American soil. For the first time in his career, he missed a 54-hole cut that is in effect when more than 78 players make it to the weekend.

He really needs to start whoring about again being a gentleman has hurt his game
If I never hear another word again about this trained seal, it will still be too soon.
He gets all the media attention even when he doesn’t make the cut
I’m about to watch the replay, on golf channel, however you can give him at least a 84 or higher....(add at least 5 to every score), as all of them have at least 4-5 spotters, along with the crowd, where they NEVER (except maybe Stricker’s OB last year) lose a ball.
When I first read the headline I thought it was going to be about another mass shooting...
To think that at one time he was the ‘great black hope’ of golf.
Nicklaus and Palmer could probably still break 79.
what is a spotter? I don’t play golf, is this some sort of cheating?
I guess it’s fair, since she’s been polishing his driver.
Eldrick will win more tournaments, but don’t think he has any more majors left in him.
Woods is still one of the greatest. That 1997 Masters was akin to a conductor at an orchestra. It’s the equivalent of Don Larsen’s perfect game in the World Series.
Gee when I read the headline at first I thought we had another gun attack....
does anyone care about this louse any more????
LOL.
Right on my home turf.
Tourny officals present on EVERY shot ahead of every player, finding otherwise lost balls (deep rough, hazzards, boundries (guarded/protected by crowd lines) are always in play with spotters....i.e balls normally not found without them, and the official penalty strokes to go along with them.
Excellent! The chances of me going to Torrey Pines tomorrow just increased.
Still a money machine.......

Tiger hits $1.3 billion in earnings
Tiger Woods has pushed past $1.3 billion in career earnings, according to a
report published in the February issue of Golf Digest.
The report estimates that 88 percent of the money Woods has earned since turning
pro in 1996 ($1.16 billion) has come from endorsements.
******
Rounding out the top five earners were Phil Mickelson ($52 million), Arnold Palmer
($40 million), Jack Nicklaus ($26 million) and FedEx Cup winner Henrik Stenson,
who earned $19 million on the course but only $2.8 million in endorsements.
Right on. That is my favorite thing about golf.
Someone queue the Simpson’s ‘Ha-Ha’ kid.
that and perfect rolling greens
A gentleman? He can’t even fake it!
The idiot doesn’t play enough. Hasn’t for years. He still thinks he’s 21. Wanna play better??? Play more!!!! Any golfer will tell you that. You can practice til the cows come home but it’s not like teeing it up every week in real competition. He won’t win a single tournament this year. And as far as changing his golf swing, he looks late on everything, has lost bios balance, and is dipping down so low on the downswing I’m amazed he has shattered his back with some the divots he takes. I could fix him in 5 minutes, .and for free. Pathetic.
