Top U.S. Republicans call for Michigan GOP committeeman to resign

Top Republicans joined the call for the resignation of Michigan Republican National Committeeman Dave Agema over comments he made seen as insensitive to gays.

At the close of the Republican National Committee's three-day winter meeting Friday, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and state Party Chairman Bobby Schostak told the Detroit Free Press they want Agema to resign after a controversial speech in December at a party meeting in Berrien County.

"Folks, [homosexuals] want free medical because they're dying between 38 and 44 years old," Agema told the gathering. "It's a biggie. So, to me it's a moral issue. It's a biblical issue. Traditional marriage is where it should be and that is in our platform, so people that are opposed on that issue within our party are wrong."

Did you read what he said? Hardly a mistake.

Why did Terri Lynn Land change her mind?

I doubt the big money donors were going to switch a more conservative candidate.

His phrasing is fairly sharp, but accurate.

I think it’s time that we had a national discussion on sodomy.

Sodomy is what makes homosexuals different than normal people.

While we’re at it, we should have an open discussion on AIDS. How did it come to America, how did it spread to rapidly? Let’s also talk about the innocent victims of AIDS: Ryan White and Arthur Ashe. If it wasn’t for sodomy, they would be alive today.

How much is it costing the country each year to treat AIDS “victims,” who caught the disease after sodomizing someone?

This is a case of pure pandering to liberals. Its not even a new story, its just a new push.

The RNC cannot abide having someone in their exclusive club who was sent by the tea party. Worse yet sending him there pushed out their pet RINOs.

Agreed - it's pretty telling that GOPe/RNC types find the truth to be anathema to "their" Party.

I’m not a fan of 3rd parties but we’re running out of options. The RNC is the policy making structure within the GOP and they obviously want to be a second liberal party.

Dave Agema has done more than tell the truth about homosexuality, that’s just their excuse. His real crime against them was telling the truth about them. He recently said that they write a party platform that they have no intention of sticking to. They write it to suck voters in and that’s it.

Third parties might be viable at State levels - it will take some doing to make them viable at Congressional/Senate/Presidential levels. The way I look at it, we have to stop being as focused on the symptoms of the sickness that is destroying Freedom and start whittling away at the causes by using every opportunity to elect good folks at any level possible. It will take a long time before we reap any big benefits, but the socialists have gotten themselves and their programs so entrenched that just slowing them down can be counted as a small victory and another step towards where we want to go. It would be nice to have a real conservative blast his/her way into the WH, but the table is so slanted towards a POS like Obama that it would be a shocker. Hopefully it's not too late to start jacking up the table to level it out and get it leaning in our favor.

As will the RINOs here in the People's Republic of NY. Proof: RINO D'Amato endorses Cuomo again .

This is a case of pure pandering to liberals.

Pandering to Liberals and every other deviant group as the 'gay' lifestyle will go mainstream after Hillary is outed as a lesbian or bi, which she will not deny, thus giving her another 'victim status' to hide behind.

A pretty sizable number of the RNC twitter followers are unabashed liberals cheering them on. Those liberals have no intent on voting republican.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see names. What “top U.S. Republicans” are calling on Dave Agema to resign? Do I think some Republicans have been co-opted by the homosexual “equality” movement? Most definitely.

I will never, ever knowingly vote for any Republican who acts as though homosexuality is normal, natural, or on par with heterosexuality. It’s not, and if I have to explain why, I might as well try explaining why water is wet.

BTW, tolerance is not the same thing as acceptance. Tolerance is an American ideal. We respect the liberty of people to do things we don’t agree with, and we rightly expect that respect in return. That is where this gay rights movement crosses the line, and that is why they must be fought. They are statists, and they intend to use the state to squash dissent.

“...a politically incorrect statement was made.”

A politically incorrect but factual statement was made. AIDS treatments are very expensive. Isn’t it funny (strange) how the left requires cigarette smokers to pay more for insurance (under Obamacare), but treats practitioners of anal sodomy as though they have no greater health risks than heterosexuals? That makes as much sense as saying second hand cigarette smoke will kill you, but getting baked smoking pot every day is perfectly fine.
