I found the virgin mobile usb stick useful near interstates and urban areas. Kinda sketchy in rural areas. They use I believe the sprint network. I also have a straighttalk mobile hot spot that uses the verizon network. One or the other works most places I’ve been. I do a significant amount of bike tripping and the laptop and tablet are in the luggage. Accurate weather updates are critical for a biker. Hated the little smart phone. Wanna buy an HTC Wildfire S with mobile hotspot? Can be used on Tmobile or straighttalk, other networks don’t know.

Kinda funny, mom thinks the name “Virgin” is tacky so it’ll probably be Straight Talk instead. I’ll probably stick with the modem that comes with the package since it’s the one their tech support will be most familiar with. Thanks though for the offer.
