Sorry for the vanity. I want to take my truck, my pop-up camper and hit the road. My one bedroom apartment feels like a prison cell and I'm tired of psying too much money for cable re-runs. I have my trusty laptop but I'll want internet. Any ideas on how to connect to the world while I'm enjoying some great bass fishing?
All suggestions are highly appreciated.
TIA.
I found the virgin mobile usb stick useful near interstates and urban areas. Kinda sketchy in rural areas. They use I believe the sprint network. I also have a straighttalk mobile hot spot that uses the verizon network. One or the other works most places I’ve been. I do a significant amount of bike tripping and the laptop and tablet are in the luggage. Accurate weather updates are critical for a biker. Hated the little smart phone. Wanna buy an HTC Wildfire S with mobile hotspot? Can be used on Tmobile or straighttalk, other networks don’t know.
Kinda funny, mom thinks the name “Virgin” is tacky so it’ll probably be Straight Talk instead. I’ll probably stick with the modem that comes with the package since it’s the one their tech support will be most familiar with. Thanks though for the offer.
I was in Manhattan over the weekend and the wi-fi was pretty good there. Parking is a hassle but the fishing should be good.
Branson might have chosen a better name for his various enterprises.
(grin)
Believe me, I don’t plan on freezing my butt off. I plan on waiting till spring/summer I just want to take my dog and do some fishing/camping, bbq’n, canoeing and just generally relaxing in the most simplified manner I can. My laptop will be just along for the ride for the most part. I just want to get away, see some sights I didn’t get the chance to while raising kids. I don’t even plan on taking a woman this time.
Wow, that’s a big difference. OTOH she mostly just does email so maybe not a big factor in this case.
Cheeky, little man, aren’t you??
