I really think that people of a certain mindset think that this will prevent drinking.
Instead of shifting it from private to public.
We’re in the midst of a can we sell wine in the store on Sunday battle here. When some of us are drinking wine every Sunday morning. Odd, isn’t it?
We can go to certain state stores on Sundays. None out in the more conservative rural areas, but some in the more sinful urban and suburban areas.
No you guys are saying prostitution is ok - how many young women do you think would turn to that “profession” if they couldnt’ find work? Making it legal takes away the stigma, just as making pot legal does the same.

That ship has sailed.
I see illegality as a deterrent to hehavior. I never did drugs bc I was terrified of being arrested, name in the paper, later I worried about the consequences to my legal license. I doubt I was the only one thus deterred. I agree with you that removing the stigma from something only serves to encourage it.
What are you even saying? Soother for as ill conceived as his arguments are, is at least intelligible. What are you talking about going into a bar and walking out with paramours? State your point plainly. Far too often your point is obscured by asides and unexplained references. You end up thinking you prevail in an argument when chances are your opponent had no idea what you were saying and so gave up! LOL!
So your premise is that women can get picked up easier than men, right? So the men we picked up don’t count? Sheesh hobbes, you aren’t really believing what you type are you?
What about comity? In what context? Again, I can’t follow what you are saying. You tend to speak in a shorthand, assuming the person knows what you’re talking about. Assume I’m stupid and have no idea bc that’s closer to the mark.
And assuming he’s correct, which I’m not willing to concede, what does it have to do with prostitution.
Yes they are already predicting we will all die in a major snow/ice storm!
Oh I agree with you, however, you are using the premise that adults can make their own decisions about vices and the gov shouldn’t interfere. Yet you want to decide which vices are better than others.
I’m not searching out your porn sites - I have no idea what that is
Yes, because I am not an ideologue. I lean libertarian but know that there is a place for the state in some of these areas. As “paternalistic” as it may be.
So I am not arguing for no restraints, only that we examine this particular line (pot) and judge whether we should re-draw it. In favor of adult responsibility, yes. But also so we don’t waste resources and foment contempt for the law. And breed corruption.
As Hobbes says, treat it like a health issue, not a criminal one.
It’s not porn.
It’s for “sugar babies” looking for “sugar daddies.”
It’s been covered in the media.
See the above abject denial of reality.
Fcol. Those men, would be happy victims of circumstance...
Lets assume 6 singles. 3 men, 3 women...
Not the objects they leave with.
Do you seriously mean to assert...the women, would not have a better chance of leaving, in 30 seconds, with a conjugal partner.
Yeah, you and xs are right.
You guys just stood all of recorded sexual history on it’s head.
Masters and Johnson, salute you.
Rme,
Comity, meaning....instead of the specific issue, I was asking about the more philosophic issue , which you addressed above. The proper role of the State,,
Because, the direct issue that started the discussion, started to devolve, somewhat to the personal..
And ..without realizing it, you had started to make that discussion with your post above.
On the Pot issue...fwiw. The Libertarians have prevailed. Sorry. Now the slow tide of time, is all that is left.
Conversely, the same thing applies, on the Life issue. The pro aborts have lost, and they aren’t quote yet aware of it, but time, is the factor.
Craigslist would have worked just as easily lol.
Despite their denials to the contrary.
Heck, in NYC, in the are business districts, where the advertisements, and opportunities are more than blatant...Despite the Disneyfacation of Times Square.
