Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (MDA) has launched a new campaign claiming Facebook and Instagram are "effectively hosting online gun shows."
According to PR Newswire, MDA is asking "Facebook and Instagram to immediately enact a policy prohibiting all gun sales and trades of firearms on their platforms." They want the two social media platforms to shut their "private sale loophole."

A good lookin’ mom shouldn’t have to look past Craigslist for a little action.
Yeah, there are probably a few in the “organization” but they get real fugly when they start to speak.
Never mind the mom, could you post a photo of the online gunshow?
I thought the MDA was “Jerry’s Kids”.
“private sale loophole” - OK, now they’ve let the veil slip, whether they know it or not. Leftists sometimes do this when they become too confident that “everybody” believes the same crap they do.
This is what the “gun show loophole” was about. However, they used this wording to make it seem to the uninformed like all sales at a gun show went unrecorded.
Seriously - they’re pushing to make it illegal for one person to sell a firearm to another person?
Put their ideas in “truth terms”, and they lose most of their support.
Like, “you really want it to be protected in law that a woman can have her baby killed at any time up to birth, on demand, and at taxpayer expense?”
They should shut down instagram. It’s the only way to make sure.
Loophole?
It is my stuff, and If I want to sell MY stuff, that isn't a loophole, It is my Right.
Part of owning private property of any sort is the Right to dispose of it as one sees fit.
I have gun shoe every time I wear short sleeves...
As long as they don’t raise their arms and show their pit hair.
The real target is private sales. I could see somebody on FB mentioning he was looking to get rid of an item, and one of his FB friends expressing interest, or vice versa. To stop that sort of thing would require a LOT of monitoring. Perhaps NSA could help?
Where are the gun shows on facebook? I have never come across any gun shows or gun sales at all.
I thought MDA was the Missile Defense Agency???
From orbit! ;-)
This little oufit is located right next door to my town in Indiana. We’re not too far from Chicago (2 hrs).
I emailed Mayor Rhambo to deputize these chicks and send them (along with some ATF guys) into the Chicago ‘hood to clean up all the illegal guns.
Never got a reply.
Yeah, where are these? I follow a few gun pages on FB. I'll admit to being just barely FB literate. I'm looking for a good 1911. Ok, saving up for, the serious looking will start in a few months.
“Hey babe. Go get me another beer. Stat!” :>} Or maybe the dad’s got tired of these nags and we now have a another bunch of single moms. Or the dad’s have been whipped in to submission or otherwise wimperized/feminized/emasculated/neuterd(sp)/rendered sackless.
It's the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Remember Jerry Lewis and all those telethons?
