Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) says it was women joining the workforce after World War II that helped the economy grow, producing a strong and healthy middle class. And that continues to be the case today, she told MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell on Monday.
And now, in very, very significant numbers, women are
a part of the workforce and have contributed greatly to allowing families to get ahead in the economy. What permits that is women being able to control when or whether they have children and how many. And it is so basic to our economic prosperity that women have that control.

Yeah.
And
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
Progressives all have the same mental weaknesses, don’t they?
But, perhaps this is a circular argument, since one needs a challenged brain in order to willingly become a progressive.
Evil.
No other word for it.
Nevertheless, it is sad for civilization to have very smart and capable women leave the earth without having 3 or 4 children.
So backward. I can’t believe how retro and sexist some of these politicians are!
Well, since she knows that the post-WWII economy was rapidly expanding, can she explain how that was since birth control was much less available and much less effective during that time frame?
These people always think they have something brilliant to say, but then you can usually blow-up their stupid arguments by simply looking at the facts!
Yeah, the economy is so great it now takes two paychecks just to survive, instead of one. What progress. And the women who entered the workforce during the war mostly went back to staying at home when their men came home from war.
This is called “eating the seed corn”. More people in the workforce today at the expense of fewer people tomorrow.
Of course they prefer to import workers from south of the border because they vote the right way. Problem is most of them go strait to welfare and none have engineering degrees.
um...Tammy ? That’s so gay.
Women joined the work force DURING WW2...the men were fighting. Women didn’t leave the work force after the men came back.
What economic prosperity is she talking about?
What would a democrat know about economic prosperity?.
Tammy Baldwin has no need for birth control because she is a Lesbian.
She is so out of date she belongs in a museum of the 1970s. In our post crash world, we have too many unemployed, and too many children raised in single parents households. Our birth rates is so low we have to import replacements for the children women are not having. Rebuilding two parents families where one works and one raises the children would do wonders to rebuild the economy.
A very pracical question. Lesbians need birth control?
It’d be a start. The Founders were adamant that “religion and private morality” (including strong traditional families) were the pillars upon which the USA stood, and removing them means that the USA collapses.
What helped our economy grow after WW2 is that the factories of Europe had been destroyed in the war. American factories, which had ramped up capabilities to support war machinery production, switched to “everything else” production to rebuild a continent’s infrastructure. The surest way to replicate those boom times is for the US to attack and destroy another continent.
She musta played in an electrical outlet with a screw driver.
Which is why abortion cannot be a right. Rights have to apply equally to all citizens. The only remedy for men would be to enact a “legal abortion” where a man can renounce his paternity from the outset through the courts since he cannot compel a medical abortion upon the woman. Who’s for “equal rights?”
Birth control is basic to the demise of a race, culture, nation, or civilization. Plus it is rebellion to God.
FAMILIES are “basic to our economic prosperity”.
Copulating like dogs without forming family units is why we’re in the mess we’re in.
