Research claiming that hydraulic fracturing -- fracking -- causes increased cancer risks and birth defects have been discredited by Colorado state public health officials.

The researchers with the Colorado School of Public Health cited "minuscule" statistical differences and ignored other factors in producing a report on the negative side effects of fracking, according to a statement released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Thursday

It doesn't. So what you do is look at the numbers in various ways - starting your comparative analysis from different years... Or looking only at this demographic (age, race, sex, etc.) or restricting your sources to this county or that county...

You keep looking and manipulating the numbers until you find a set/scheme that shows an uptick. Then you do something like instead of reporting a 2% rate vs a 1% rate you tout it as "100% INCREASE IN THE RISK!!!" You bury the fact that your error bars on the analysis far exceed the delta. You then build your whole "study" and analysis methodology to come to the conclusion you've already decided upon.

That’s how most studies by “experts” are carried out. The conclusion of the study depends on who is paying for it.

For those who want to see a 6 minute video showing how horizontal drilling and fracking is done, Northern Gas and Oil has done a great one.

It includes a visual piece on how fresh water aquifers are protected from contamination.

Knowledge is power, keep the link and pass it on.

Well, first you must reach a conclusion, then you dummy up facts to support said conclusion.

The only fracking I know of that caused a problem was when a nuke was set off near Carlsbad NM, Aztec NM and Montrose CO. These fracked real well but the gas was radioactive.

Project gasbuggy. Aztec, NM.

project Gnome. Near Carlsbad NM( My dad worked on that project. I still have his comic “certificate” of his time there).
