Current Movies Good For Dates?

Posted on 01/31/2014 8:40:48 AM PST by ConservativeMan55

So I was looking at some good date movies out to take my girlfriend to tonight.. and I've really been wanting to see Lone Survivor.

BUT.. I read the reviews and it sounds like there is a lot of cussing and grapic-ness.

Maybe more of a movie you'd go see with some dudes. But taking a girl.. maybe not.

Any other recommendations??

I’m not one for strong language but it did not offend me in LS, maybe cos it was a real story. If she cares about this country and supports our military then she will not be offended by LS.

Tell her you would like to see it, but give her another option as well, we like options :)

Good luck!

5th date? It’s time to give her the ‘can you handle not going out’ test. Spend a night at home, not doing much of anything but talking, watching TV, cards, board game.. Simple pleasures. That’s the real test. Find out if it’s YOU she wants to be with and not the movies or always going out.

That’s not a bad idea!

But yah I think she just genuinely enjoys spending time together!

She probably wouldn’t care what we did.

My daughter and her husband really enjoyed Frozen... so did I

I also highly recommend Lone Survivor... If your date can’t handle that then boot her to the curb

She’s DEF a patriot and supports the military.

But since this is a fairly new relationship.. I’ll look at all the movie options.

If a date can’t handle Lone Survivor then she is not date worthy

LOL

She LOVES Frozen and has seen it. But she’d probably see it again.

Enter the movie names from local theaters into the IMDB website. Then read the ‘user reviews’ from IMDB about the movie and you will know whether or not you and your girl friend will enjoy it.

“Just bring her over to your place - make a nice roast, Merlot, chocolate mousse for dessert turn out the lights and put on a Zero 7 CD.”

I second that. However if you must watch something, American Horror Story Season 3.

She would probably like that.

She likes chick flicks.

Saving Mr. Banks, Philomena, The Book Thief would all be good bets.

“.. but since this is a fairly new relationship”.

Just my advice, hon, but try something new. Can you cook anything? Even simple pasta, salad, bread and dessert is a new experience. Most women LOVE when a man can not only cook but cooks for THEM. (The dessert can be purchased if you aren’t into baking). What you shouldn’t do is get into a rut or do the same things over and over because they are “safe”. Is there a museum near you? A bowling alley? By trying something new (whether it is a complete success or not) allows the two of you to laugh, talk and be together. Good luck and you two have fun!

Home with Netflix is much more quiet! Pick out a nice Riesling to go with your movie; she will appreciate it!

The only movie in theaters I am aware of that isn’t coming from anti-Christian, anti-conservative crowd that represents 99% of Hollywood is Gimme Shelter.

I recommend Plugged In Online for movie reviews, especially if you want to morally evaluate the content before seeing it or spending money on it.

http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/intheaters/gimme-shelter.aspx

This one has some top tier actors:

Vanessa Hudgens, Rosario Dawson, Brendan Fraser, and last but not least, James Earl Jones.

This is the only movie currently in theaters I personally would even consider going to see.

See if she is a keeper:

Instead of a movie, take her to the rifle range and blow away a few targets.

I saw some mentions of Frozen, which I did not review as I assumed it was targeted for a young children which I do not have. But sometimes animated flicks are worth seeing at any age.

Well, sorry. My wife would not want to see Lone Survivor. Has nothing to do with heroism, Americanism, or anything else. Not her type of movie, and I suspect a LOT of females are like that. We did see “American Hustle” and liked it a lot.
