Posted on 02/01/2014 10:24:07 PM PST by Slings and Arrows
A mummy cat had some serious making up to do after accidentally giving her litter of kittens such a fright that it caused them to scarper in all directions.
The adorable group of eight felines almost jumped out of their fur when their mother, attempting to spring up onto a window sill, fell back down.
The kittens scattered at surprising speed underneath a chest of drawers and a bed as theyre shocked by the commotion.
The video was uploaded on YouTube under the title Epic fall and has already garnered over 160,000 hits.

Mission accomplished, mom.
If that was her intention...well, it worked.
The kittens are adorable. And fast.
She has EIGHT! My goodness, I hope they all find good for-ever homes. (And gets herself off to the vet, now that she knows what causes it.)
Agreed on both counts.
> I would be too weak to jump too if I spent all day
having eight sharp toothed kittens chewing on my
Yeah, but you only have two.
What a great new word. Gotta love those Brits.
That momma moggie has some serious cloning genes. ;D
When moggies are scared, they scarper. Who knew?
I think Mama is reproducing by fission.
You didn’t say they were YELLOW tabbies. Those are the best kind!
Moggie has kitten fractals. ;)
Mother looks to be at least half Maine Coon. It is possible that these are purebred Maine Coon babies, but they don’t have tremendous coat. So, this may be a planned litter of Maine Coon babies, although they do not appear to be very well bred or possibly all Coon.
Self-similar kittens at every scale!
Thank you for the visual I didn’t need this early in the morning.
Damn! They were fast!

Fast as lightning...man, I love cats. They’re such natural athletes...and the two I have are my little panthers...perfect little fighting and killing machines. I’m so glad I’m bigger than they are!
I first saw it reading "Oliver Twist".
And it IS a cool word.
I like British slang too. I believe that the word “scarper” originated in rhyming slang: “Scapa Flow” (the main British naval base in both World Wars) for “go”.
If I am wrong, I’m sure someone will correct me.
I didn’t see your post until I had made mine. If that word is in “Oliver Twist”, then what I said about its origin is probably wrong, since the base at Scapa Flow was not established until just before WWI, well after “Oliver Twist” was written. Time to go find my OED.
Awww, poor little babies. Momma looks a little confused as well. I wish the video had continued
on as the kittens got over their fright, and at least Momma didn’t fall on any of them.
Thank you for the ping, Guapo.
I was thinking the same thing.
they were saying “where’s the milk” and she was saying “geesh, give me a break”, and knowing they were irritating her, by how she was trying to avoid them, when she fell they all said “look out, now she’s after us”
You speak Kitteh?
De nada, hermosa mujer.
I agree- along with the grey tabby!
