I know. Lighting bugs are just no more. Don’t know when the last time I saw one. Shame.
We used to collect them in bottles at night and play with them. Flashlights. :)

That’s “fireflies” to the Yanks. I say that because I think “lightning bugs” is a Southern term.

Spreading suburbia has taken away their habitat but if you make it a point to get to the coutryside during their mating season, you will be delighted in their abundance there........
