Just as computer technology greatly expanded Americans’ wealth in the 1990s, the clean energy market could do the same thing in the years ahead, Secretary of State John Kerry told the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday.

He touted climate change as a societal challenge and an economic opportunity. […]

“The energy market that we are staring at—that is the solution to the climate change,” Kerry continued. “Energy policy is the solution to climate change. That market, my friends, is a $6-trillion market today with 4 to 5 billion users today, and it will grow to some 9 billion users over the course of the next 20 to 30 years.

“It is the mother of all markets, and only a few visionaries are doing what is necessary to reach out and touch it and grab it and command its future.” …

I see. A command and control central planning government. Of course. Why haven’t we done this before?

Herman Munster wouldn't know a market if it bit him on his pompous butt.

If it did bite him on the butt, he would recommend himself for a Purple Heart.

Kerry? Izzat the dork who
1) had lower grades than W in college,
2) lied about his laughable Vietnam experience,
3) stabbed his courageous military compatriots in the back with more lies about Viet Nam,
4) boinked some rich (and apparently very desparate)women in order to become low enough to run for the senate and thereby gaining the Gigolo of the decade award, and
5) awarded second place in the “Most repulsive and idiotic critter in congress” - closely losing to a tie between Nostralitis Waxman and Bawney Fwank?

more socialist solutions to non-existent problems...
(higher and higher taxes, more and more restrictive regulations... and you thought slavery was banned by the 13th Amendment?)

Yes. Notice how they all claim that “policy” will create “markets”, when that’s an impossibility.

Talk about weak republican candidates, the last 3 democrat nominees were Gore, Kerry and Obama.

What an idiot.

There is no such thing as a “solution” to nature.

Clean energy...isn’t. It’s dirty and so expensive and inefficient no one can afford it.

at the same time they claim they want to create a market for energy, they also rail against Big Oil — that is, an energy market already exists.

Same thing with their duplicity over health care. They claim they want to create a new market for health insurance, while there is already a huge market for just that product....

The truth is, they simply want to take over every aspect of our lives (to control us) ... and what better sectors of the economy to seize but energy and our very access to medical help when we need it....?

Oh yes, and then there’s all those food stamps...

The “Mother of all markets” is the money to follow. It’s what makes guys like Al Gore richer. It’s pure treachery! In fact, it is the very exercise of those fascists in charge of socialism becoming extremely rich at the expense of the people’s widespread misery.

A 6 trillion dollar market that they can't wait to get their grabby little hands on, to control, regulate, tax and squeeze every human being on the planet with.
Just as 0bamacare has nothing to do with health, Kerry's Energy Policy has nothing to do with making energy affordable and available to everyone.
Obstruct, Control and Ration is all.

Speaking in Europe, which has already given the green energy approach a stalwart but doomed effort, Kerry is preaching to the wrong choir. They been there and done that, and Germany is now building coal fired power plants to bolster their energy supply. Others are essentially abandoning the whole "carbon" fiasco. One wonders what this fool expects to accomplish by such embarrassing and untimely cheerleading.

“Only a few visionaries”
My, they are a humble lot.
I’m a mechanical engineer. People have been trying to make solar work for a hundred years. My 7th grade science project was a crude solar collector.
trust me, it isn’t a lack of visionaries slowing alternative energy.

The revolution in computers did not occur because the government declared war on typewriters and adding machines.
