Is that the newest Mars Rover picture depicting another boring natural formation? That rock formation was not merely boring, it was actually impeding the Mars Rover's progress across the surface of the planet in search of evidence of life. Fortunately, the obstacle was easily removed by a few strategically placed explosive charges. Here's the "after" photo of the same location:

My guess is that these non-functional (at least for burials) pyramids were border markers..............
