A high-profile trial is set to begin in Florida on Monday involving a man who fatally shot a 17-year-old African-American teenager.
The man claimed he shot in self defense. But authorities found no guns in the car the teen was riding in.
The case is garnering international attention not just because of the similarities to the case of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, but also because the prosecutor in the case is the same: State Attorney Angela Corey.

From what we could learn at the time, it looked like murder.
If I were on the jury, I would vote to aquit the shooter.
Pretty stupid for a lone white guy at a gas station to interact at all with a car full of gang bangers, let alone to complain about their “music” being too loud. Better to just shut up and move along.
But... Just because the cops didn’t find a gun in their car doesn’t mean there wasn’t one. I have no trouble believing that they reacted badly to his criticism of their musical choices, and probably brandished a gun. If it was pointed at him he was within his rights to fire.
Unless he’s some kind of unstable hothead I have a hard time believing that somebody would just open up on a car even full of bangers for no reason.
He’ll probably lose though.
There is a difference between ‘acquittal’ and ‘not guilty’.
One says there wasn’t enough evidence to meet the charge, and the other says the charged is blameless. I think this makes a difference in civil trials.
Back in the day, “teens” used to have some respect.

The press is loudly complaining that the Judge won’t let them in the courtroom during jury selection, and will sue today if he doesn’t relent. They want to ID the jury in a racially charged trial! Imagine that?
My point to you the other day still stands — here we have a white man charged with murdering a black teen. Press goes nuts!

Someone who would shoot a person over music shouldn’t be owning a gun. In my opinion this guy makes responsible gun owners have to battle a little harder to maintain their rights.

George Will compares the coverage of Watergate, Irancontra and Obama’s IRS-abuse-of-rightwing-groups. He said, ‘OBama knows he has the press covering for him’.
So yes, I’ve grasped & agreed w your post all along. But when it comes to Obamacare, not to worry. It is wreaking havoc w people’s lives day in and day out. In this case, all the press accomplishes by not covering it is to undermine their own credibility. People still understand how devastating Obamacare is—and the message is going deeper home every day.
We still need to get rid of Boehner & McConnell, though. Watch them rush to Obamacare’s rescue, if things start to look too bad for it. They love big gov/gov control almost as much as Obama himself. Indeed, they love Obamacare. The sooner this pair starts experiencing the joys of retirement, the better.

OTOH, pulling a gun on someone who asks you to lower the volume of the loud obnoxious music is a big NO! NO!
Dunn claims that one of the kids in the car pulled a gun on him when he asked them to turn the volume down.
I guess we’ll just have to find out who is the more credible witness — Dunn or his three accusers.
