LONDON — Fashion icon Kate Middleton won’t be having anymore wardrobe malfunctions if Queen Elizabeth has her way.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the queen has ordered the Duchess of Cambridge to wear lower hemlines during a 3½-week trip to Australia this spring.

The royal makeover won’t just focus on toning down Kate’s leggy style. The duchess also will wear more tiaras and statement jewelry “favored by the Queen and Queen Mother,” the Mail reported.

There is no doubt in my mind that Moochelle was educated on proper protocol before meeting the Queen. She chose to deliberately disregard it to make a point, trash that she is.

As for Kate, I understand that her style has to change somewhat now that she is a mother, but I hope she won’t end up looking too matronly (tiaras-—ugh). Either way, though, she’ll be a refreshing change from the slobs I see in everyday life, with their tats and flip-flops and fat rolls hanging out.

As for the thread being news...the guys have their girlie threads, which is fine. We ladies enjoy a little fun commentary on fashion, etc.

Perhaps Her Majesty would prefer Kate in a burkha? Her country is being inundated by Muslims and turned into a sharia country and she’s worried about KNEES? Someone sounds dotty.
It won’t matter what she thinks of fashion if sharia takes over-the royal family will be the first to go! And this is the same woman who has NO problem with her simple son CHEATING on his young wife then bringing the same woman into the family with a title! I don’t imagine Queen Camilla would be offended by fashion if she saw no problem being a mistress and playing ‘stepmother’ to the boys whose mother she disrespected.
Please bring on William and Kate! The girl isn’t immoral or trashy, she dresses beautifully for someone her age. This is the equivalent of the Titanic’s captain caring what the passengers are wearing while the boat sinks!

You got off easy-must have been one of those permissive orders.Ours were Marianites. We had to kneel on RICE if our skirts were too short. Of course that meant that we rolled up our skirts the MINUTE we left home, down at school, then up again on the way home.

Can’t the queen control the wind?

The aging queen probably can't control her wind!

Noted that Michelle Obama, when she met the Queen, went with the bare-leg Hollywood look and also broke protocol by trying to hug the Queen

I seem to be unusual in America, but I object to those who think we should address foreigners by their titles or deferential forms of address.

For instance, I don't think a duke should be addressed by an American, in America, as "Your Grace."

I'm an American, and I don't recognize titles of nobility.

If I ever go to UK, in politeness I will attempt, no doubt ineptly, to follow the local customs in such matters. But then I expect foreigners, in politeness, to accept American customs when they come here.

I make exceptions for foreign heads of state, such as the Queen, when visiting America. But that's a nod to the sovereignty of her nation, not to her as a person.

I get seriously torked when commenters on the NRO website routinely refer to Conrad Black as Lord Black.

Some legs need to be covered. Some do not. In a democracy, Kate Middleton’s would be voted “Not covered”.

I don’t favor Americans bowing to foreign heads of state — at all! But certain dress protocol respectful of the office, such as avoiding showing a lot of nude skin, as well as respecting a head-of-state’s personal preferences about whether a foreign official or his wife can lumber up and hug an 86-yearr-old woman are a matter of diplomatic courtesy that should be observed.

Oh, I agree with regard to heads of state.

I have a 1950s Emily Post etiquette book. It spends something like 25 pages on the proper forms of address, seating order, etc. for different ranks of nobility.

Now there is also protocol for addressing those who have earned certain positions, such as ambassador, governor, etc.

I don't have a problem with that, but somehow the deferential forms of address to those who simply inherited a title rub me to the wrong.

He's not My Lord.

she viewed herself as an equal to the Queen.

Arrogance that knows no bounds.

That’s cute...I like that very much.

Kate seems to have a much better relationship with the Queen than Diana ever had.
