300 students have signed a petition to have the creepy, yet lifelike statue removed.
In part, the petition reads;
"This highly realistic sculpture has, within just a few hours of its outdoor installation, become a source of apprehension, fear, and triggering thoughts regarding sexual assault for many members of our campus community.
While it may appear humorous, or thought-provoking to some, it has already become a source of undue stress for many Wellesley College students, the majority of whom live, study, and work in this space."
The Boston Globe reports the piece is called "Sleepwalker," it was put up to bring attention to the work of a sculptor named Tony Matelli.

I first realize how wacky college can be is when in the first few weeks I attended college some fraternity built a phallic snow man. A group of nags were walking back from some feminist meeting saw it and complained to the administration. They claimed they were “terrorised”, yes they used that word, by the snow phallus. For the next few weeks, there were hilarious letters to the editor. One satiric letterw wrote he was going hijack a plane with a cooler full of ice phallus. As someone commented on another site, when conservatives complain about a work of art they are charged as being philistines because art suppose to be challenging. Now we have a whole bunch of leftist, mostly lesbos, and they are complaining about a work of art challenging them.

Maybe the artist is Lisa’s relative or boyfriend.
Only 3 that I know of still exist, Hampden Sydney, Wabash, and Morehouse. Morehouse is traditionally black.
However some would add Jewish yeshiva and rabbinical schools to the list. There are quite a few of those.
My son graduated from Hampden Sydney.

There is a large school of modern art that think the purpose of art is to piss off the largest number of people possible.
