Michigan College Offers Course in Zombies, Apocalypse
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) Some Central Michigan University students are getting schooled in the undead this semester, thanks to a religion course that's exploring apocalyptic themes in biblical texts, literature and pop culture. [snip]
Sounds edifying.
Zombie ping!
And kids just out of college wonder why they can’t get jobs.....
If they’re done right, courses like this can be very edifying. Using a popular culture element to explore historical themes is a useful way to integrate the actual course material while keeping it interesting and relevant.
This is like studying linguistics by looking at the “Klingon” language, which as a recent and well-supported artificial language provides a wealth of potential for discussion and information on how any language develops.
Undead Thread?
Hope they enjoy paying back the $100K in student loans!
Aren’t most college students already zombies?
Might work. They learn in school about the walking dead so that they can try to enter the Obama zombie economy when they graduate. ( lotsaluk to them!).
Bring them to Washington, D.C. I’ll introduce them to Congressmen and women.
