Last year, Sealy Texas based automaker Hennessey announced plans to introduce a modified, customer-friendly version of the 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray they modified to be faster than any other production Corvette, including the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
The 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray with the HPE700 Twin Turbo Upgrade is now ready for the public. The 700 stands for the 707 horsepower the car boasts after Hennessey's mechanics are done installing all the bells and whistles.
That's a street-legal 707 horsepower car. For comparison, consider that the 2014 Honda Accord comes with 185 horsepower. A Toyota Prius has 134 horsepower.
They have recently announced they will only make 24 of them for the 2014 model year, and they have already begun taking orders for the cars.

There’s a ‘70 Camaro in Hot Rod this month with a twin turbocharged Chevy 427. Builder claims 1320hp at 6500rpm on a light dyno pull with 23psi boost. The turbos can apparently deliver 38psi. It runs through a specially modified T56 six speed.
It looks very streetable, but from the article it’s currently on the show circuit, sadly.
Not my favorite car, but they did an incredible job. No word on what it cost to build...
Chevy selling Cognac?
Apparently they need some work to squeeze them in. So I’ll have to take that back for street legal.
The posters over at corvetteforum.com generally don’t like the extra weight of big blocks anyhow. They do brag about how you can expand the aftermarket LS blocks to 500 CID.
I'll say...Pretty unremarkable looking to me...
Yeah the rat motor has kind of been left behind on the development curve.
Most of the really trick stuff (cyl heads, etc) is for the LS now.
It runs a full tank (22 gals) empty in 11 minutes when it's wide open. W-16 engines are thirsty. Made by Volkswagan.
Well, now Kentucky needs to make a new garage floor for the Vette’s that survived that sink hole under their museum ....
I wish!
My little WRX is running at the ragged edge of boost safety at a bit less than 20psi with 92 octane gas. Would need a bunch more (unobtainable) to bump it up any.
Huge boost numbers only running on 100 octane race gas are great for magazine articles, but useless for the street user.
The LS7 in my Z06 is 427 CID, seems like a big block to me...
There are also plans for a 1,000 hp model.

From what I understand, the new 427 is actually a small-block. Which is fine since the ‘Vette’s balance gets a bit out of whack with the weight of a big-block.
Hennessey offers a 1000hp Vette.

Will they be making a Hybrid version?
Mmmm. I think not.
“Will they be making a Hybrid version?”
Porsche makes hybrids. Hybrids in some form are now used in Formula 1, and in LeMans series. Audi has won LeMans 11 of the last 13 years, most recently with diesel-hybrid.
Government Motors may get around to using hybrid in the Corvette, but don’t expect them to lead, technology wise. The Vette is a great car for the money-no argument from me.
