Last year, Sealy Texas based automaker Hennessey announced plans to introduce a modified, customer-friendly version of the 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray they modified to be faster than any other production Corvette, including the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
The 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray with the HPE700 Twin Turbo Upgrade is now ready for the public. The 700 stands for the 707 horsepower the car boasts after Hennessey's mechanics are done installing all the bells and whistles.
That's a street-legal 707 horsepower car. For comparison, consider that the 2014 Honda Accord comes with 185 horsepower. A Toyota Prius has 134 horsepower.
They have recently announced they will only make 24 of them for the 2014 model year, and they have already begun taking orders for the cars.

They make it seem as if a car with 700 hp shouldn’t be street legal. Guess they haven’t heard of the Shelby 1000.
I thought all Vetts were all made in Bowling Green KY?
Or Porsche and a host of others.
Passes everything but the gas station.
hope they put a second gas tank in it.
zooom! (I, for one, will wait a couple years to find out just how well the new variable-cylinder engine holds up...
some of the attempts at such engine designs in past had problems ......Then supercharging it adds a second level of caution..) but I have to say how much I do love these cars!
“I thought all Vetts were all made in Bowling Green KY?”
The article is referring to the Hennessy parts.
Makes perfect sense, a race car to drive to work!
Is that you in your new Vette waving your Lone Star Colors?
Or the Bugatti Veyron (1184 hp).
Shoulda just put a normally-aspirated high-compression big block V8 with fuel injection under the hood. Would have gotten the same horsepower easily enough without all the additional moving parts. (As well as similar fuel economy.)
Can it stay out of sinkholes?
GM just announced the 2015 release of the new C7 ZO6 at 736 HP. You don’t need Hennesy. The C7 ZR1 is rumored to possibly be even 133 HP more than the ZR1.

My 1965 GTO cranked out 375 hp.The 389.cu.inch engine was “blueprintd”by Joe Mondello and boasted”Tri-Power”!I sure do miss her!!!She got around 8 mpg.
I think one of the variations of Mustangs is around 660 HP from the factory. What’s wrong with HP? ;-) (says the guy driving a 7 year old hatchback with 126 hp new...)
It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Just saying. :-)
The capability of this kind of stuff is beyond any level of common sense street speed for sure.
I remember when 400 hp was a pretty big deal.
Never seen a rat motor in a C6 or C7.
Do they fit?
