he had to actually make the team. they have a new coach this year who is SUPER into it, and has big plans. They are supposedly going to play ASU next year etc. lots more travel and lots more $, he is graduating at just the right time. There are several kids from Canada on the team. That’s always a sign of a good program. Believe it or not, Jerry Falwell’s Liberty U in Lynchburg, VA, is a hockey powerhouse, it’s a D1 program, and they have 12 kids from Canada. They had a “pairings” show online yesterday at 8 pm for Nationals. xsboy sent us the link so we watched, where they gave out the seeds and games for the national tourn and talked about each program, it was cute.

“he” did institute the “fan of the game” idea for hockey though!

being it was senior weekend, parents had to go out onto the ice and mom’s got flowers [orange carnations] from their boy and posed for a pics. I assume we will see those at some point. anyway, when we did that in HS, Gonzaga put out a carpet on the ice for us to walk out there. SU did NOT, and i had to walk on the bare ice. i was terrified i was going to end up on my @$$!

Sounds like poor planning. Though I guess up there they expect everyone to be used to walking on ice!

Glad it is thawing out at last-

Many fools believed the illation
That Obamacare would be great-
But people in Oregon were duped
By government lies in their state

Few have paid for any coverage-
Even the website is on “hold”
All their money has been wasted
On the lie that they were sold

If Oregon is the just first place
Where all this fraud was found
With California already broke,
That state will be run aground

And what a real woman in Hillary’s shoes would have done-

Dejó un ramo de espinas para su marido infiel...

Last night when I took Husky girl outside, the most bizarre commotion started when the cows in a pasture up the road got spooked by something and were carrying on like a small stampede that set off neighbors’ horses and goats. That was certainly interesting enough-then the donkeys across the river started braying, and some dogs started barking. I was looking all around to see what happened, but nothing was out of the ordinary.

Husky girl was standing alert, growling quietly till a pack of coyotes someplace upriver started up-she started howling back, and then the mastiff two properties over sounded like the hound of the Baskervilles, it was earsplitting, and lights started coming on at every house. Everything got quiet after those donkeys finally shut up, so we went inside.

I figured the only things that would spook cattle like that were predators-so it must have been a cougar, since there aren’t any rustlers around here that I’ve heard about, and people do have llamas and donkeys to keep cougars away from livestock. I went looking for tracks along the riverbank early this morning, but I didn’t see any, so the animal panic is still a mystery...

Don’t you have any neighbors with ostriches?

No ostriches nearby, just 6 or 7 emus that one neighbor keeps. Donkeys and llamas are tame, and much, much easier to get along with than ostriches, so they are the stock guardians of choice here.

Former Dem Congressman arrested in Zimbabwe on child porn and illegal immigration. The illations on the thread are typical FR humor. Ex-congressman arrested in Zimbabwe (Mel Reynolds)

Which can be seen as yet another illation of quantitative easing...

Which is the more costly, in the long run? The production and continued care of inflated mammary regions (new gusseting included), or the increased interest of the other quantitative?

I like remote places-it runs in the family-I like to be left alone...

Your little pups would do fine on acreage, as long as it was well fenced, and they were not left out unattended. I told you about the neighbor’s Yorkie that escapes at least once a week to visit everyone and has to be fetched back. The owners are still looking for the hole in the fence he is using to escape...

Granted, most of the dogs around here are the huge, feared type-Husky girl is a poodle compared to the large dogs around here-there are other smaller ones besides the Yorkie-lots of those little ones are terriers, though. Just on this road, I’ve counted or met 6 Mastiffs, both English and Neapolitan, and 2 Bullmastiffs, so Mastiffs are apparently the doggie du jour. There is also a huge, scary looking Mastiff type of dog from South America-can’t remember the name of it, a couple of Great Pyrenees, a Dane, and a pair of Irish Wolfhounds.

They put out a commercial you may have seen but really ticks me off: A young guy saying he already HAS health care insurance but wanted to see if he could get a better deal. Then he goes on to say because of his income, he gets a better deal thru “the marketplace”! WTH - so he could pay it before but now we get to subsidize it. Yes I realize it is a commercial, but just damn. So again, they are admitting some with insurance will just switch to this plan, negating what they said about insuring the uninsured.

I got so annoyed at the Obamacare comnmercials that I hit the mute button every time I see the beginning of one-that one sounds like no one realizes that a better deal in “the marketplace” = taxpayer funded...

It was never about the uninsured-most of whom still are, and don’t intend otherwise, by the way-it was about making everyone who works pay for everyone else because medicaid always operates in the red, bigtime, and is totally broke in some states...
