Bob Casale, a founding member of New Wave pioneers Devo, died at the age of 61 on Monday (Feb. 17). A statement from Casale's brother Gerald, also a member of the group, confirms that the cause of death was heart failure.

Very cool. I suppose you know some of the folks from the old rockabilly and punk scene? Maybe even a block named Jack Waldron who worked the avante garde, pop and punk music scene out here for years. You probably know Rockin’ Jelly Bean’s art work and his band called Jackie and The Cedrics too.
Then:
Now (on "Yo Gabba Gabba"):
Aware of Rugrats as my daughter ( now 26 ) loved the show when we lived in Keene , NH and Long Island for 6 months in 1995 . Unaware of Yo Gabba Gabba . Sounds like the title of a Ramones tune . ;-)
In my opinion, one of the best and meaningful of Devo’s lyrics...
A victim of collision on the open sea
Nobody ever said that life was free
Sink, swim, go down with the ship
But use your freedom of choice
I’ll say it again in the land of the free
Use your freedom of choice
Your freedom of choice
In ancient rome there was a poem
About a dog who found two bones
He picked at one
He licked the other
He went in circles
He dropped dead
Freedom of choice
Is what you got
Freedom of choice!
Then if you got it you don’t want it
Seems to be the rule of thumb
Don’t be tricked by what you see
You got two ways to go
I’ll say it again in the land of the free
Use your freedom of choice
Freedom of choice
Freedom of choice
Is what you got
Freedom of choice!
Cool. I’ll look for that CD next time I’m in Shimokitazawa. The only club you mentioned that I know is Crocodile, but there are dozens of others I hit each year too. Do you happen to remember the band called Bo Gumbos? Very famous in 80s and 90s rock n roll scene.

Shows what an excellent band they were.
That is one of my favorites.
I guess I’ve been a Spud-Boy since the “Are We Not Men” album debut.
RIP Bob 2.
Our independently produced CD has long been OOP . I think we sold about 10,000 , mostly in the Kanto area . Bo Gumbos sounds familiar . How long have you been in Japan ?
