They say sex sells, but perhaps not as well as one might think
According to the newly released 2014 Annual Movieguide Report to the Entertainment Industry, family-friendly, patriotic and religious films are earning more money at the American box office each year.
For the first time, nine of the top 10 grossing movies in 2013 at both domestic and international box offices had a family-orientated theme, including Iron Man 3, Frozen and Man of Steel, and a large portion of top 10, such as Fast & Furious 6, had references to Jesus Christ.
There is a great incentive to make movies that are good, true and beautiful. There is an audience out there, and studio headseven ones that arent Christianhave intentions to reach this audience, Movieguide founder Dr. Ted Baehr told FOX411.

Shocking!
Ping.
The very movies Hollyweird doesn’t want to make
Caling F&F a family movie is a stretch
If Fast & Furious 6 is a family movie, our society has fallen even further in the gutter than I thought.
I don’t think someone yelling “Jesus Christ!” when they shot at or sideswiped counts
"The report also claims that movies reflecting "strong Pro-American, conservative, patriotic, moral and/or capitalist content or values" such as "Iron Man 3," "The Hunger Games," "Hating Breitbart," "Captain Phillips" and "Lone Survivor" earned more overall than films like "White House Down," "Blue is the Warmest Color," "Elysium" and "Spring Breakers."
I’ve seen numerous acquaintances express interest in the upcoming Noah movie...people I wouldn’t think would care the least bit about it. Maybe there is a ray of hope.
Family value movies don’t promote the Marxist agenda.
Pray America wakes up
Uh huh... Sure...
I agree with both of you. I did enjoy the movie a lot and I think it is a shame that Paul Walker has died. but to call it a family movie and get overwhelmed by the “Jesus Christ” reference is a stretch. However, I enjoyed the movie a great deal.
They did pray in one scene. I guess that is what they are referring too. I mean it is no more than Duck Dynasty that prays at the end of the episode for two minutes and they get a bunch of praise.
Despite being about rock and roll, our documentary “Rockin’ the Wall” is G-rated and has a great Christian conversion story.
“I dont think someone yelling Jesus Christ! when they shot at or sideswiped counts”
LOL!
Far more people are willing to see family friendly films like “Frozen”, as well as willing to see it multiple times.
Rated R movies may get initial draw once, or not.
Culturally degrading films get high marks from reviewers but view paying viewers.
