Non-native species often pose problems. I just have two problems with the plan. One, I don't think mute swans are really too much of a threat to anything or anyone in New York state.

Sounds like the perfect solution to the illegal alien geese from Canada and the year round ducks which are making our reservoirs vast e coli pools.

The left wing idiots in control of our drinking water reservoirs will fine a kayaker for getting their feet/boots a little wet to launch a kayak. Yet, they have zero problem with hundreds of illegal year round geese from Canada, dropping their massive amounts of goose poop each day in our drinking water reservoirs.

I lived on the water of Long Island for 20 years and never saw them attack anything unless it got close to one of their kids. Even then, it was to scare them away.

I have seen swans fight each other, and Canada geese will fight each other to death.
