Woman Pays Entire Pay Check for Propane Heating Bill

A month ago, property taxes took 2.5 months of income. Yesterday, I called because my cell phone had died so tried to get a new $15 phone but was informed my $7/mo. plan has been cancelled so the cheapest plan I could get was $20/mo. I get to renew the local newspaper subscription this month and it’s gone up. Cable went up about $15 last month but we live in the country so it’s about the only entertainment we get (although the dogs meeting up with a black and white kitty last month was exciting, ick). Gas is up. Groceries are up. Everything has gone up except our income which has gone down. Minimum wage was about $5 when hussein came to office and it’ll be $10 soon. That’s doubled. Has your income doubled? Mine has decreased every year so there is no blood in that stone.

1. The price of kerosene has been driven from $1.75 a gallon in the middle 2000s to $4.25+ a gallon by the crazed govthug weenies in the EPA. I was spot-heating with a kerosene heater and making out quite nicely compared to natural gas back then.

Yup And it has been that high for years now, and is currently climbing to all time highs. Fuel Oil is just a few cents cheaper, but if your tank is outside(You heat with a furnace) then you can’t use fuel oil in cold climates.

People are really going bankrupt trying to heat their homes in rural areas now. The EPA caused a price spike for sure, and also the middlemen(JPM type speculators) are the ones who profit most.

It’s not really a problem, the Fed says inflation is very low. You can buy a thumb drive for 4 bucks or a gallon of propane for 4 bucks but the FED could care less that you need one to survive and don’t need the other at all.

If you're interested, I've also looked into some variations for the rocket stove mass heater designs--variations that might pass masonry heater code. One that I'm looking into is a masonry rocket heater exhausting into masonry bells (masonry heaters, Russian bell design). A concrete foundation would be needed for that. A firebrick or cast fire "rocket" core with clay tiles around it would also figure in. A thick, steel stove feeding into a bell might also work. Will continue looking into code issues.
