After pleading guilty to hiring a Ku Klux Klan hit man to murder his black neighbor, an Alabama veteran is attempting to negotiate with a judge for mercy, the Raw Story reports.

Allen Wayne Morgan’s attorneys are insisting that their client, who participated in more than 175 combat missions in Iraq and has dealt with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and drug addiction, should not spend more than five years in jail.

I don't know if the charges against the defendant are true. If they are, he will spending some time in jail. However, read the comments to this article. They are very disturbing. I wonder if any of those commenting on the "The Root" to this article said a single word condemning the many examples of crimes actually committed. I was going post a youtube video of a horrific crime, but I don't want to stoke this fire. There are lots of bad people doing bad things and, otherwise, good people who do bad things. People should remember that be prepared to deal with it because the police almost certainly will not be there to help when you need it.

Yes I did, and here is what I read:

"I want this man hung from a tree like he is an animal. I want his penis cut off and I want him cut. You’re a hunting man, right? I want him hung from a tree and gutted," he allegedly said.?

Morgan also allegedly admitted to confronting Mosley outside his house and firing several shots at the man but not aiming to kill him, because there would have been witnesses. After being arrested, Morgan confessed to trying to hire the hit man.

As you have succintly stated, the devil indeed is in the details....why you ignored them is beyond me.

Yeah, it reminds me of a shootout a couple of years ago between some Army Rangers living off base and some South Hill Crips in Tacoma. Something like 200 rounds fired between the two groups all in one front yard and not one person was hit. If I was the Company Commander I’d send all those guys to the range and tell them not to come back until they could hit something worth hitting.

I think the problem is that the headline implied he was doing this for racial reasons, not revenge reasons. The confusion made worse by hiring a KKK hit man.

What the story did not say is does his wife claim that their neighbor raped her? Did she file a police report? Did he just imagine that his neighbor raped his wife?

Oh, and another twist not mentioned: the neighbor, Clifford Maurice Mosley, is a registered sex offender who molested a 13 year old girl.

I read the parts you posted as well, and I did not ignore them, what surprised me is that you think a man should be executed for wanting to off a rapist, or at least what in his mind was thought of as the rapist that assaulted his wife.

I was a bit taken aback to think that someone on this site could have such a skewed and irrational morality, and merely asked if you were honestly mistaken about the details of the case, given the highly inflammatory associated details that could reasonably be seen to drown out the motivations behind the crime.

So, again, in your estimation, attempting to have the man that raped your wife killed should be a death penalty offense?

Apparently someone wants to paint the impression that KKK hitmen are common down here. I've lived in Dixie since 1978, and I have yet to meet the first Klansman. I was even in the Sons of Confederate Veterans, you'd think they would be crawling with them. /sarcasm
