"I think I might have an explanation for why he's homeless..."
Paying the price of eating without a way to cook and other high prices of not having a home or address? Homelessness is the only higher priced way for many to live beyond apartment living (no auto repairs allowed, no way to save on utilities, etc.).
It's going to be fun becoming a rental nation, isn't it. Enjoy the slide. And remember to keep the credit history perfect, because in some cities, there'll be no possibility of getting into an apartment without that and the processing fees for having the history checked.

It's going to be fun becoming a rental nation, isn't it. Actually, the lie was that everybody is supposed to own a home at every phase of their lives or we are a racist country.
America's historical strength has been a mobile workforce who moved to where the work was.
If you own a house, you aren't nearly as mobile. Especially when the banks are forced to make loans to people who are never going to pay them back.

(If Barack Hussein Obama entertains a thought that he does not verbalize, is it still a lie?)

The USSR did manage to get most of its Russian labor population into apartments, and labor mobility was there for efficient management by the elite/effete. China has some of its labor force in “dormitories.” But yes, the labor force there is also very mobile.
Competition is good for business and a healthy economy. That will probably be realized again in the U.S.A. before long but only after a few economic hardships.
So to all others: avoid buying anything that you don’t really need. Continue finding ways to become more self-sufficient. As a hobby for now, learn to produce something of good use. Study and practice, to make yourself, your family and friends more acquainted with technologies. Be nonpolitical, until we see more morality and cleanliness.
There goes the dollar, and there goes the neighborhood.
