"Mitch McConnell strode out onto the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday morning, packing heat.
The Senate Minority Leader finds himself in an odd position at CPAC...."

Muzzle Loader?
Was Mitch watching Piers Morgan again?
Dawg Pound Ping (but for fun)!!!
I don’t post too many threads... so here’s one for ya...
Under FEDERAL LAW, it is not considered a firearm.
Some states, of course, have their heads up their butts.
CPAC 2014 is being held in the Glorious Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Maryland (Why?) ... even that benighted domain does not subject the trade in muzzleloaders to any restrictions not imposed by Fedzilla.
Progressives always turn conservative during a contested election. Hopefully his constituents are smarter than the residents of Arizona.
“...Too bad he forgot the red rubber nose, size-15 floppy shoes ...”
Don’t worry... a Clown by any other name is STILL a politician... or.. wait... a name by any other clown is still a ... no, that’s not right... A rubber with a red, size 15 - damn... no...
Ahh, forget it!!! :^)
Trying to channel Moses.
It ain’t workin’...
A III for me and LFOD!
It is sad when they need a prop to try to look conservative.
Live free.
Let the guy trying to stop you from doing so do the dying...
“... held in Maryland...”
All the more reason he should have shown up with an AR15 and drum mag. It would have made THE statement of statements.
But spinelessness is a symptom of the species “RINOSITIS Termlimititus”.
I’m not certain what model of muzzle loader that is/was but I don’t think it was a rifle.
Even sadder when you stop to consider that people WOULD follow and back him up if he actually remembered he had a spine, a pair of onions, and acted like an American MAN should in the face of the all-out assault we’re undergoing.
I guess asking our elected hired help to actually DO their jobs though is another one of those old-fashioned notions - you know, like Duty, Honor, Courage, Integrity, Fidelity, Patriotism...
Can’t have any of THAT anymore now, can we... why, people might actually start to remember they have Rights, if so.
Yep ... or a Maryland made Beretta 92 with standard (15rd) magazine ... either would be a slap in the face to the national socialists in Annapolis.
It looks like a “Hawken” style, such as is available from Traditions, Pedersoli, Thompson-Center or a variety of other manufacturers. It’s definitely a rifle.
Hey Mitch: Bring an AR15 with a drum mag, and maybe I'd believe ya.
Thats pretty much my reaction.
My best reaction great, hes supporting the Commonsense civil right of Armed Self-defense [CASD]
My worst reaction: Oh Great, Mitch McConnell is reinforcing the old tired line about the 2nd amendment being about MUSKETS!
hey, it worked for Joe Manchin...
I recall the stupid cable show, “1000 Ways To Die”.
They had a short story of someone they called “Musket Mary”, a way-too-obvious parody of Sarah Palin, who shot and killed herself with a loaded muzzle-loader during a stump speech.
The comments on the video went over a thousand variations of the same sentence: “Republicans must DIIIEEE!!!”
They no longer hide it or rephrase it, and they dare you to call them on it.
They Want You Dead.
“...but I dont think it was a rifle...”
Well, it appears to be a percussion lockplate, rather than a flintlock - I blew up the picture as much as it will go before it pixelates and distorts. I don’t see the frizzen or flash pan on it.
It looks a bit like one of my Hawken rifles, but the barrel does not appear to be octagonal.
Either way... if he wanted to make a REAL statement - and grow his flagging political stature - he should have brought an American-made AR15 Homeland Defense Rifle.
No guts, no glory...
I’d settle for either, brother.
