Straight Men in San Francisco are Desperate for Dates
SF Weekly ^ | Wed., Mar. 5 2014 | Mollie McWilliams

Are San Francisco straight men that hard up for a date that they need women to be flown in from elsewhere?

Apparently, according to one dating site: the Dating Ring. Currently still in the fundraising stage (Really, we're fundraising for dating sites now?), a post on SFGate notes "Love-lorn young ladies can reserve a spot on the trip by simply anteing up $1,000, which will net them a flight, housing, three dates and two parties."

Don't make us gag. Judging from the comments on our recent post disputing NerdWallet's findings that San Francisco is the best place to be a single, straight woman, we're in good company with our opinions about San Francisco's straight-dating scene -- or lack there of.

Who are these men they're flying women in for? And who are these women who are leaving NYC to find a date across the country?

One girl they interview says, "Dating in New York is the worst. I mean the number problems in New York is that all men are gay or awful."

Um, excuse us, but you do realize there are tons of gay men in San Francisco, right?

It doesn't matter anyway, as Less Than One points out, you'll likely still only find a handful of people attractive -- in any city you're in.

Anyway, good luck with those dates!

San Francisco has no right to that motto. Georgia Tech coeds have used it far longer.

This androgenous SF product has two mommies. SF needs the big earthquake . . .

I thought she said last night that the two mothers who adopted her split up and each found a new mate. She mentioned two mothers and two-step mothers, as well as multi-cultural siblings.

She? has the tiniest head I've ever seen on an adult.

The adjustable strap on the baseball cap is overlapping and it still looks loose.

“Then she hits her 30’s, and starts looking through the nice guys she rejected in her 20’s, looking for one who will still be interested in her high-mileage assets, but still being resentful that she had to “settle”.”

Pity the poor, dumb male that marries this woman. She will make his life a hell on Earth whether as his wife or, worse, his ex-wife. Then he will REALLY be screwed.
