Are San Francisco straight men that hard up for a date that they need women to be flown in from elsewhere?
Apparently, according to one dating site: the Dating Ring. Currently still in the fundraising stage (Really, we're fundraising for dating sites now?), a post on SFGate notes "Love-lorn young ladies can reserve a spot on the trip by simply anteing up $1,000, which will net them a flight, housing, three dates and two parties."
Don't make us gag. Judging from the comments on our recent post disputing NerdWallet's findings that San Francisco is the best place to be a single, straight woman, we're in good company with our opinions about San Francisco's straight-dating scene -- or lack there of.
Who are these men they're flying women in for? And who are these women who are leaving NYC to find a date across the country?
One girl they interview says, "Dating in New York is the worst. I mean the number problems in New York is that all men are gay or awful."
Um, excuse us, but you do realize there are tons of gay men in San Francisco, right?
It doesn't matter anyway, as Less Than One points out, you'll likely still only find a handful of people attractive -- in any city you're in.
Anyway, good luck with those dates!
I call BS. We all know there aren’t any straight men in SF.
I lived in the bay area for 15 years and only found stuck up, self centered women ALL looking for the money train.
Maybe it has changed but I don’t think so.

I read something not long ago that Washington DC is becoming the new gay city.

I think that’s true anywhere since the beginning of time. Not “ALL” but close to 95-99%.
To be fair, most desirable men are pigs to women too.
The 49ers may have San Francisco in their name, but their head office and practice facilities (and soon their new stadium) are in Santa Clara.
Women in Portland are much friendlier and much prettier.
You just have to check to filter out the drug dealers.
If I was a straight man in SF, my next move would be to, well, move.
Even if I was married.
If the straight men in San Francisco left, the caravan would be fifteen cars long, ...single file.

My son had that problem there....most of the girls were awful. But fortunately he got married and doesn’t have this problem anymore.
He still loves it there ....for some reason.

If you are a straight man in Frisco and you cannot find a date, I would say you have some issues. Just like the gay men there.
They were straight at one time....
No, the problem is ya'll want rich men. I had one girl once tell me she don't date men who make less than $300k a year. So naturally I had to ask her how much did she charge by the hour. DOH!
At least these women won’t get lost in SF, there is AIDS on every corner!
He doesn’t have to worry about some other man stealing his wife.
