In a nutshell, a team of CDC doctors are sent to a remote research facility in the north pole to contain a virus outbreak.
The facility is privately owned and they were doing genome experiments and created a virus that turns people into zombies but not really zombies as we think of zombies.
The guy in charge of the facility, Hataki, has also secretely created a drug that allows anyone injected with it immortality.
I guess the background story line is that the corporation running the show has plans to release the virus into the world and recreate a super race with the immortality serum...
It's actually much better than my lousy attempt to describe it. In school I was always bad with book reports......
