Personal Observation: For the second consecutive year, CPAC has held its annual conference at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, about 5-7 miles away from the U.S. Capitol. Oxon Hill is in Prince George's County, Maryland -- which is heavily Democrat and majority black in residents.
CPAC attendees, legislators, staff, radio & TV personalities & their staff have been at National Harbor spending their money there for the past few days at restaurants, bars, pharmacies, gift shops, etc.
Is the mainstream media going to report on how "mean, racist, bigot & homophobe Republicans and conservatives" are spending money in P.G. County and pumping money into the county's and the state's coffers?

Hello to All!
There’d be headlines if someone said, “Ca-ca” or “macaca”!
Ha Ha! Good Point! :-)
Perhaps they should relocate it to the La Plata Convention Center.
I’ve got a better idea: Move it out of the D.C. area completely.
My Puerto Rican grandmother used to call us “macacos” every time we misbehaved. No big deal. We got used to it — it was funny!
There will be silence from the media about allegedly racist conservatives going to a majority minority place for this meeting.
If anybody had said macaca, that would have been the big news.
I’m still frustrated about macaca. Not only did the media have their outrage, but the Washington Post at the time ran a series of articles, to define macaca for us. They had to inform us all as to why macaca was a slur, then smear Allen for using that word.
Robert Byrd said “white ni**ers” on an interview around the year 2000, as I recall, and nothing was said about it because Byrd was a good Democrat.
Wait... La Plata (Maryland) *has* a convention center??
Haha!
See post #7...
I never understand how the liberals and the media keep pushing this narrative of racist bigoted conservatives. There are numerous racial/ethnic minorities in the GOP.
Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina
Senator Tim Scott of SC
Governor Jindal of Louisiana
Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico
Govornor Brian Sandoval of Nevada
Senator Marco Rubio of Florida
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas
Former Congressman Allan West of Florida.
I’m sure there are others, this is just off the top of my head. Yet in spite of the obvious diversity in the Republican party, the narrative persists that good minorities need to be Democrats because of bigotry, etc.
We need to send a loud and clear message that conservative principles are not racist or bigoted.
rqcist
It was a joke.
(I suppose that they could use the conference center at the Southern Maryland College)
LOL!
It’s not big enough.
Blue Crabs Stadium is the biggest venue in these parts, but that’s an open-air stadium with very uncomfortable seating.... ;-)
My Puerto Rican high school friend who lives in VA and is very involved with the Fairfax Co. Republican Committee (or some such group) said that there was a minority forum at CPAC, which was well attended, but no media or reporters covering it other than their own.
You won’t see NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and teh rest of the vermin covering this story...
And that's the point. A place like National Harbor or the DC Convention Center or the Inner Harbor Convention Center is really the only place big enough to handle such an event.
I’d like to attend CPAC one year. I hope they hold it at the Reston Town Center sometime.
In fairness, National Harbor is a safely isolated little Big Bucks haven that happens only by geographical happenstance to be in PG. It’s not as if they’re meeting in District Heights or any of PG’s other hamlets that enjoy high crime rates comparable to any inner city.
And how are you, Silvie???
Oh just lovely, thanks for asking, E.
Hope you & the family are doing well too — can’t wait for good & sunny weather to rear its head back to this area!
Best!
