The dreaded Obama introduction to 'Cosmos' lasts less than 30 seconds
See body of thread for link | March 10, 2014

Like many of you here, I was looking forward to watching Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey last night.

But, also like many of you here, I was not looking forward to Obama's anticipated long-winded introduction, therefore I set my DVR to record the show, so that I could fast-forward through the intro. (some of you even declined to watch the show because of this intro)

However, when it came time to watch the show, I was pleasantly surprised, and a little bit embarrassed at my overreaction. The dreaded intro lasted less than 30 seconds!

Well, whaddaya know. Obama finally gave us a gift, sort of. Of course, a better gift would have been for him to not speak at all! :-D

I love science but have no interest in watching people who call me a Squirrel eating reactionary homophobe.

Having Obama introduce the series was a bad move if their goal was to reach as wide an audience if possible. Since Obama is easily the most polarizing US President in the past 25+ years, you'd think that the show's producers would think twice about losing members of their audience who may like the show's content otherwise but can't stand Obama and his policies.

Then again, the show's producer is better known for sleazy cartoons and sitcoms than for educational programming, so who knows.

Got so bored after about 20 minutes had to switch channels. Boo-hoo, there was religious persecution in the distant past...

I was looking forward to watching this series. But now, after watching the first one, not so much.

I love science, cosmology and astronomy but it was kinda’ boring, IMO.

I was glad to see Homer Hickam speak up.

The big bang theory was first proposed by a Vatican astronomer.

Sorry, but if I want to watch COSMOS, I watch the old one with Carl (beeelyuns and beeelyuns) Sagan. The music was outstanding and the filming, for it's time, was entertaining. While I didn't necessarily agree with everything old Carl espoused, it was good, entertaining, educational television.

Even with the TelePrompTer his attention span doesn’t get much past 15 seconds. So I’m guessing the producer of the show had a challenge with that intro.

Just some simple manners would go a long way with these clowns. They’ve so convinced themselves that conservatives don’t have any interest in science that they feel quite comfortable slinging insults.

The Marxist introduces the show? Well chalk up another show I won’t be watching. I stopped watching Jeopardy when they devoted a whole category to Al Gore and his climate scam with the scam artist himself speaking the scam questions.

Obama should have kept his pie hole shut. He will be reaponsible for why many tune out this program.

Love the comments at your twitchy link! Heck, they are like freepers! Gives me hope that maybe over 50% of America isn’t fooled by the admin and the media.

Yes but now they have a standard measurement to equate the size of galaxies and the universe for people to understand its vastness better: "The milky way has billions and billions of stars or about 1/100000th the size of Obamas ego"

Exactly. They're not only arrogant, they're also ignorant.
