A group of passengers suing Carnival Corp. for damages after sailing on the ill-fated Carnival Triumph cruise ship that drifted at sea for days are asking the company to pay $5,000 a month for the rest of their lives for ongoing medical and mental problems.
The case stems from the February 2013 incident when a fire broke out in the ships engine room during a four-day cruise, leaving the ship without engine power and most of its electricity, forcing passengers to endure human waste running down hallways, limited water supplies, noxious odors and extreme heat.

Yep, I’m “onboard” for that too.
I don't see it that way. However, their demands are ridiculous. But the offer? There are those who were on that cruise who never want to even look at a cruise ship again. Yet, the only compensation offered involves taking more cruises.
I suspect most cruisers used to naively believed that if anything this bad happened, there'd be an evacuation. I doubt they expected anything this horendous could happen.
Gives new meaning to the term “my ship came in”
The conditions were hell unless you managed to secure enough food/water and hide in your balcony stateroom with the door wide open. Also remember that many cruisers are seniors and kids who are far from hardy or cooperative when things go south.
Bad plumbing leads to disease in such close quarters. “Bad smells” does not begin to describe a place soaked in raw sewage for days.
However, if Carnival is found to have followed all the rules I don’t think plaintiffs should get anything besides a refund, reimbursement for vacation time and medical treatment.
Hahahahahaha
