Not a good fight. I expected more out of Shields. Lombard is fighting as usual.
I like the chick fights because they remind me of the UFC from back in the old days. A lot of go-for-broke aggression and sloppy winging punching with little regard for defense. They’re not nearly as polished as the guys, but put on a good show and aren’t usually concerned about eking out a weak victory on points. The women seem more interested in finishing their opponent.
Whoa, someone gave Shields that last round. Must have been Cecil Peoples. LOL
I can honestly see your point. A fellow mmma follower asked me about a year ago about what I thought of the skill set of the ladies. I told him that often it looked like a schoolyard cat fight but that the women actually fought and not played “point karate”.
Yep, it was what it was. Decent but not exciting. The last 3 fights should be better. I like Jury, Condit and Hendricks, though any one (or more) can easily go the other way.
I got Dirty Sanchez in the next fight.
I’m from DFW and met Hendricks several weeks ago during a Reebok commercial shoot. Nice guy. I hope he wins.
Everybody says what a nice and humble guy he is. For some reason I don’t see it. I guess I’m tainted after the way he acted after losing to GSP (and for the record I can’t stand GSP’s point karate style).
Playing it safe can earn a fighter the “W” but if they’re not making it exciting for the crowd they’ll suffer when it comes to renewing their contract or getting a shot at the title. Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta know that the UFC is first and foremost an entertainment business.
Because he won the fight and got robbed by the judges. Now he’s dedicated to finishing all his fights and not giving the judges a chance to screw him over again.
Go Bigg Rigg!!!
It was horrible when Cyborg broke her face.
When Cyborg was busted for roiding it explained much and I hate her for cheating against Gina my goddess.
Now Cyborg is talking all kinds of smack but she is a proven cheater.
I don't much care for Rhonda because of her unladylike attitude but she is a beast.
I kinda would like to see Cyborg destroy her.
Rumor has it Gina might return to MMA.
That would be really cool!
All in all womens MMA more soap opoera than mens mma but it has it's merits.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
whatever...you sound real mature...enjoy the brutality...
Me too.
I like Sanchez’ aggression.
I’m a big fan of Rousey. Carano is hot but her skill level back then isn’t nearly what the skill levels are today for the top women. I’d probably put her at the lower end of the top 10 since the women’s division is still relatively shallow.
Well, he got robbed because he left it in the judges hands, which is always a bad choice. He still a darn good fighter and I think he’ll win tonight.
Sanchez usually comes to fight, so I give him that.
