Reagan was exceptional. A real leader, very intelligent and thoughtful and an independent thinker. He would not have lasted a month at an Ivy League school or at CBS News.

True. As I said, when Reagan was in office I believed there were many in this country who were "real leaders, very intelligent and thoughtful and an independent thinker who were regular nice guys who loved freedom and America" who could, should, and would take his place. I still do and it really doesn't make sense to me that we can't more like him on a regular basis - except for one thing.

There is a spiritual battle and rulership aspect in politics and the affairs of nations. Prior to Reagan's election, our church was part of a massive, nationwide, orchestrated campaign of corporate prayer I haven't seen before or since. This coincides with the whole history of America: God created America beginning with the miracle of the Constitution and has been her Keeper ever since. If America is to survive for another period of time, it will by God's providence and mercy.
