Take a break from all the depressing news of the day.

Watch Phoebe Allen, the adorable little hummingbird, lay her eggs and raise her babies HERE

Absolutely cute overload.

Phoebe is a Channel Island Allen hummingbird who lives in Orange County, California. She has been hatching 4 to 5 eggs per year and her nest has been on net webcam since 2007.

She is currently sitting on two eggs.

Cute hummer webcam.
She’s so cute when she returns to her nest and turns her eggs.

No, it’s not dark.
Sometimes it takes a while for the cam to come on, and you usually have to listen to a commercial first. :)

I had the pleasure of having a hummingbird build her nest outside my house one year. I watched the family’s progress everyday. The best day was when I saw two little beaks over the edge of the nest and mom feeding them.

You’re welcome.

Watched her last Summer. So cute.
You can usually find her by Googling ‘Phoebe’ or ‘hummingbird webcam’.

A rosebush is an interesting location for a nest.
Here, they liked the hemlock pine.

Yes, they are adorable.

I've watched Phoebe on and off for a few years. One year a lizard crawled up the rosebush where she nests and stole her eggs. Poor little thing.

I suppose the thorns would discourage most predators.
But, as I said, one year a lizard crawled up the rose bush and got her eggs.

Hummingbird are one fo the few bird species i like besides the ones that go nicely between two slices of bread. They don’t crap all over like canada geese and they don’t cause property damage like wood peckers...

That would do it.
Here, no lizards.
But lots of bluejays.
