Thanks for the article on cat behavior.
It didn’t mention anything about the ‘crazies’- when your cat suddenly takes off at break neck speed and races around the house then stops just as suddenly.
Or when they stare at something intensely- something you can’t see.
Most of our cats do this.

What’s so strange about these behaviors? They’re perfectly normal cat behaviors.

Patch will sometimes drop a toy mouse at my feet when she’s looking for attention. I guess I’ll keep petting her when she brings me toy mice; one of these days if I don’t do it she might bring me a real one!

Yowling at night?
In our case it is "they have closed the door. I am all alone! Abandoned! Deserted! Left to die! I will sing the song of my people!"
:door opens:
"Oh Hai. I sleeps wif you now!"

Twice now, my cats will sit and stare at a certain wall. For a couple days. Makes you laugh. But both times, mice scratched their way out of that wall. Not so funny.

Both our kittehs like to chatter at birds just beyond their reach or zone of potential pouncing.
We assumed it was either frustration knowing they could not get to them in time, or just letting the birds know their @ss was grass if they had been any closer.
The youngest cat used to like to stare, but has given it up as he aged. He still does see poltergeists now and then. Freaks the wife out when he does that.
