Most here have forgotten that the ‘power elite’ have mandated a 50% reduction in global population. This scenario is but the USA’s minor contribution to that end.

Agreed. The LEO will simply be bringing supplies to the other side.

I cannot remember a time when 45 N was not under construction. A family friend lived in Huntsville, for a while, and would come the back way to visit us (through College Station down to Hempstead/Brookshire route.)

The backroads certainly helped us during the Rita debacle.

Thanks for serving, and just damn. Whoever made that decision is morally bankrupt, to put young men in that situation.

but I still say don't leave the house at the beginning of riots.

Absolutely, yes. I was thinking long term and you were speaking of the immediate short term. Missed that. Sorry.

It seems like Zero is pushing for a collapse to me. No one would do the things he and the progs are doing unless collapse was the plan.

How do those nice big radiator grills work when sprayed with something flamable like kerosene?

“But the government will just blame the fact that a loaf of bread now costs $50 on “those greedy corporations” and “rich Republicans”, the “usual suspects” will believe every word...”

Yeah and it's already happening. I bet you saw NASA’s report predicting a collapse due to income inequality. The obama regime has reduced what once was possibly the most credible organization in America to a propaganda mouth. Looking past NASA’s new politics what their statement really told me is that the government believes there will be a collapse.

Yes, and the crazy thing is they think a collapse would work to their advantage. I beg to differ.

True enough....

Regarding this thread (2-1/2 years later....) it's interesting how prescient Bracken's writing was. Having just dealt with the gasoline crunch we had last weekend, I was surprised at how quickly gas supplies dried up. In my area, things were perfectly fine on Saturday morning. One station had a few pumps bagged, and I read a few rumbles of a problem on FR.

Ten hours later, by Saturday evening (8pm or so) there was no gasoline to be found in a 10 mile radius of my house. Certainly problems existed beyond that, but I didn't bother to look out any farther.

And that was as a result of a simple, semi-easily fixed malfunction. What shortages would a *serious* issue have caused? This was a low-impact event and thus an excellent learning opportunity.

To be fair, I'm equally surprised by how quickly gas supplies rebounded. In less than a week, things are mostly back to normal again.
