Jimmy Carter: ‘When They See That Pope…Say Women Can’t Serve As Priests…’

“The existing abuse of females is the worst and most pervasive and unaddressed human rights violation on earth,” says former President Jimmy Carter, who is making the rounds of various news shows to promote his new book, A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power.

Carter—repeating something he’s stated previously—said the abuse is “indirectly” derived “from the fact that religious leaders say that women are inferior in the eyes of God, which is a false interpretation of the Holy Scriptures. But when they see that the pope, and the Southern Baptist Convention and others say that women can’t serve as priests and so forth equally with men, they say, ‘Well, and I’ll treat my wife the way I want to because she’s inferior to me.’” …

Yes, he’s at it again. Is it a contest between him and Obama to see who can be more overtly evil? (Funny how he refers to women as “females”, which dehumanizes them, too. Anything to say about Islam in that book?)

Not allowing female priests is way way way way worserlier than stoning, clitorectomies, not allowing them to drive, having their testimony count less than a man, punishing them for being raped, allowing 60 year olds to marry 9 year olds, need I go on?

I'm still trying to understand why peanut brain thinks his opinions, let alone he are even pertinent. There is only one religion I know of that will force you join and that's the religion of the syphilitic pedophile mutthomed. If people aren't happy with a religion than they should find one whose tenets they can live with rather than bitching, moaning and demanding the religion change to suit them. But the bottom line is jimmahs a moron.

He left the Southern Baptist Church because it wasn’t liberal enough. One of the issues he was upset about was the prohibition against the ordination of women.

Demonstrably false. The persecution and mass murder of Christians is the worst and most pervasive and unaddressed human rights violation on earth. Not that Jimmah would give a damn about that.

Jimmy Carter said" “...religious leaders say that women are inferior in the eyes of God, which is a false interpretation of the Holy Scriptures."

If anyone says that women are inferior, they are 100% wrong. The Catholic Church isn't saying that women are "inferior", though. That plainly isn't true. The Catholic Church is saying that women are different. And we are.

It seems that every time you blink, either Carter, or John McCain, or Pelosi, or some other senile old fart like them is saying something "profound" for the drain-slime media, which, of course, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Someone should open up an "old politician's home" somewhere (way, way out in the woods) for people like Carter and McCain and Pelosi, (etc.), where they can just sit around all day, and endlessly say goofy things to each other, and the rest of us won't have to listen to them.

They need to spell Pope with a CAP “P” and Jimmy Carter as jimmy carter for obvious reasons. BTW the Vatican Counsel chastised the Admin (make that the Dims) for their anti- Christian positions against faith. So jimmy is defending the religious attacks of his party. I still like brother billy better. The Dims just love to violate the Constitution.

The Vatican has given the Obama Regime harsh criticism through the Vatican’s chief justice, Cardinal Raymond Burke. Burke was the former archbishop of St. Louis and his words reflect his great concern for our country. I am sure Carter has taken up the sword for his Commie allies in the Obama Regime with his criticism of the Pope. Here are Burke’s words that, I am sure, reflect the Vatican’s view of the Ohama Regime:

“It is true that the policies of the president of the United States have become progressively more hostile toward Christian civilization. He appears to be a totally secularized man who aggressively promotes anti-life and anti-family policies”

“Now he wants to restrict the exercise of the freedom of religion to freedom of worship, that is, he holds that one is free to act according to his conscience within the confines of his place of worship but that, once the person leaves the place of worship, the government can constrain him to act against his rightly-formed conscience, even in the most serious of moral questions,”

Burke took a swipe against Obama’s Affordable Care Act over the law’s birth control mandate, saying “such policies would have been unimaginable in the United States even 40 years ago.”

“In a democracy, such a lack of awareness is deadly. It leads to the loss of the freedom which a democratic government exists to protect. It is my hope that more and more of my fellow citizens, as they realize what is happening, will insist on electing leaders who respect the truth of the moral law as it is respected in the founding principles of our nation.”

Burke also believes there is hope that abortion will be overturned in the U.S.

“There is hope that the evil anti-life laws of the United States can be overthrown and that the anti-life movement which urges yet more of such legislation can be resisted,” Burke said. “The pro-life movement in the United States has been working since 1973 to reverse the unjust decision of the Supreme Court which struck down state laws prohibiting procured abortion. It is true that the Supreme Court decision stands, but it is also true that the pro-life movement has grown ever stronger in the United States, that is, that more and more citizens, especially young citizens, have been awakened to the truth about the grave evil of procured abortion.”

Of course Jimmy Carter sides with the immoral demons of evil in our precious land of liberty. He is a Marxist scoundrel that almost drove our country to the ground. That is why I call them DemonRATs. You always know they are up to no good by the droppings the leave behind.

The SBC didn't turn out JEC. His church in Plains, GA, disaffiliated with the SBC back in the 1990s and now affiliates with the CBF - Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. As other Freepers have commented, the CBF permits ordination of female pastors.

Why, Jimmeh: I thought you believed in scripture.

1st Corinthians 14:34-37
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

I can see it now. Painted cement floor, rattan chairs, folding card tables, and a few ancient sofas. Screened porch, a view of a small lake, fireplace, and godawful food served on paper plates. No phone.

Liberal Baptist thought is something I’ve never been able to understand, i.e., it’s OK to ordain women to teach and have authority over men(which Scripture prohibits in I Timothy 2:12) but not OK to baptize infants(which Scripture never prohibits).
