Zardoz was the best. The best, Jerry!

Jaws is a great movie. The shark model didn’t work well during filming, and the movie is stronger because you don’t see it that much. Kind of like the first Halloween is more frightening even without gore and without seeing Michael Myers that clearly. Jaws never really scared me much as a kid, but it is a great movie more because of the interaction among the main three characters and Quint’s Ahab-like obsession. The movie is kind of half Moby Dick and half Enemy of the People, and then there’s the USS Indianapolis.

That’s actually a pretty damned good list. There probably should be at least one Cassavetes film in there, preferably the least unwatchable.

Disagree. McDowell’s Lil Alex was fantastic.

Few of those would be my choices

Animal House, Patton, Dirty Harry, The Sting, Star Wars, M*A*S*H, Close Encounters of 3rd Kind, and Jaws

The 70s may be the best decade ever in film.

I saw them all and loved them all with one exception,”A Clockwork Orange”. I couldn’t make it through that one-—terrifying to me.

I actually have a DVD of Clockwork orange. I watched it once and now it sits collecting dust. I read the book as a teenager and loved it. Recently read it again and guess what? I still love it.

The movie sucks by comparison.

That can be said for a lot of flicks. I loved the book and loved Kubrick’s interpretation, but I am a Kubrick fan.

The cartoon people probably couldn't say Jaws but good in-joke.

I ws seven in 75 and no way would Mom let me see Jaws wih my older brothers. I remember being disappointed when I finally saw it in 79 as it did not frighten me. No worries though as I was soon to watch The Exorcist when it ran on network TV. Too bad Mom was not aware what I was watching down in the basement as I had nightmares for months.
