The company, Fednav, has found the drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles, are able to transmit crucial information back to the wheelhouse, allowing ship captains to thread their way through frozen waters and dodge icebergs, like the one that sank the iconic ship more than a century ago."

I thought it was low visibility conditions that sank the Titanic, doubt a drone would work in the fog or a storm either.
Totally absurd and unnecessary to use drones.
The Arctic became ice-free in 2013 as predicted by the warmists, right?

Is a good idea, and can feed ship's current GPS position back to drone for recovery.
Downside is UAVs (UAV's) available to civilians have limited time on station (generally electric), so launch only in questionable conditions/locations.

I would agree. I don’t think a drone would have helped the Titanic.
Believe me, I am not being snarky in my answer. But you have a great idea and if you have the means and drive, you can start looking into inventing a drone that the public can use to search for lost objects or things like crabs at shallow depths.
