oe Milne who suffers from Ushers syndrome, was deaf from birth. She had bilateral cochlea implants fitted which allow her to hear for the first ever, this is the moment they are switched on!

I read the headline soon after reading this story:

and was confused by it at first.."Turned on" sort of t hrew me..

Will she start receiving death threats from those that think the deaf should use sign language and lip reading only. There used to be protest against restoring hearing, is that still the case?

She was saying that the audiologist had a very high-pitched voice, and the audiologist kept assuring her that his perception would go away in awhile—but the audiologist does have an extremely high and irritating voice. That’s not going away anytime soon.

I’d love to see how they introduce her to music. Poor lady. What a great joy for her.
