My first thought was "what could she hear through them?"
Will she start receiving death threats from those that think the deaf should use sign language and lip reading only. There used to be protest against restoring hearing, is that still the case?
Her fake boobs are plugged into her ears? Have I got that right? No wonder she can’t hear.

She was saying that the audiologist had a very high-pitched voice, and the audiologist kept assuring her that his perception would go away in awhile—but the audiologist does have an extremely high and irritating voice. That’s not going away anytime soon.
I’d love to see how they introduce her to music. Poor lady. What a great joy for her.
