I want to with all FReepers are very blessed upcoming Easter Season. Thought I would share this video to get ya' in the mood. I LOVE this beautiful arrangement and will be doing the flute solo with ensemble on Palm Sunday (pray that I'm not a bundle of nerves ;-) ).
Enjoy! He is risen!!!!

If anyone is interested...The piece is called "Old Rugged Cross" and the arrangement is done by Marty Hamby for ensemble.
Well, bless you, my FRiend for that!
I am the Minister of Music at my church, and i am always getting requests for that wonderful song!
A Blessed Easter to you.
Isn’t it awesome? We’ve rehearsed it several times (last time this afternoon) and it just gives me goose bumps.
Glad you liked it!
Very nicely done. Enjoyed it. Thank you.
Another one I like is “Christ the Lord is Risen Today, Hallelujah!”.
Now I just have to get the band (a Rock Power Trio) to learn it! LOL!
I went to Missouri Synod Lutheran School in Oak Park, Illinois....and we learned all the verses in first grade. I still remember them.
Lutherans love their hymns and singing...and you start young!
I think they have the best hymns of all, LOL.
Also, in first grade we learned the entire Hallelujah Chorus which we performed at Christmas services with the adult choir.
I can still sing the beautiful descant to "I Know that my Redeemer Lives", but you wouldn't want to hear me sing it at my age, hah.
The soaring descant heightens the end of the final verse in a most glorious way.

I have a collection of Hymnals, and to find the words to “Christ The Lord is Risen Today”, I went right to the Lutheran Hymnal...and there it was! LOL!
My favorite is “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.”
...and you know who wrote that one.
He has risen.
HE HAS RISEN INDEED!!!
Heh! I hear ya’.
Now, I know for a fact that the guitar player would rather play led Zeppelin, BUT I AM THE BOSS. LOL!
Well, have to admit I feel like ripping some Jethro Tull once and a while. ;-)
“Sitting on a park bench....”LOL!
Actually, I like when ANDERSON quotes BACH! LOL!
My little sister plays flute, and met Ian Anderson once.
Don’t pass out, Passover!
LOL!
Wow! Saw him in concert while in the UK as a b’day gift from hubby. It was great!
Yes!
He made the Flute a Rock Instrument. No Small Feat.
