So, my new Sunday night 'guilty pleasure' is a show called "Those Who Kill", with Chloe Sevigny and James D'Arcy. The series started March 3rd on A&E, but it was moved to the Lifetime Movie Network recently presumably for lack of ratings on A&E (even though the 'lead-in' was the very successful "Bates Motel").
It is a violent/suspenseful show about a detective in the Homicide Division of the Pittsburgh PD (Sevigny), who works with extremely violent cases.
Last night, a woman serial killer named Angela Early was looking for a man who had raped her when she was 13 years of age, and she found his boyhood home, set in a seedy urban area of Pittsburgh. Angela was telling the guy's mother (who would only talk to her through a closed window) that she needed to talk to Colt because [paraphrasing]: "Due to the new Obamacare regulations, we owe him a refund. I work at the clinic down the street". (Again, paraphrasing).
I thought it was somewhat funny that she said "Obamacare" and that someone would actually be getting a refund. LOL!
Just thought I'd share....
well that really messes up her testimony in court doesn’t it...
she’ll be pegged as a chronic liar..
what jury would believe that she had been raped ...
It's just that no matter what the scenario may be, ObamaDon'tCare being the disaster it is to the country and its people, just is too much of a tragedy to make anyone laugh.
I read an article just a couple of weeks ago that said that the government was trying to get TV programs and movies to include positive references to "Obamacare" in their shows. Just a little government brainwashing with the connivance of the supposedly private media.
Just like the sting operations police use to round up people with FTAs, arrest warrants, etc. Send a fake letter in the mail saying you won Super Bowl tickets, cash refunds, etc. Then get them to a sting location and round them up. Works great. Money talks.

It’s a TV program. Even going with the flow and theme of the story I guess, I’m unaware that a civilian lying to another civilian is legally ‘entrapment’. A lie is usually only illegal when answering questions from the police, feds or other government organizations.
Point taken.

The funny part, imho, is that anyone would be stupid enough to think they’d get a refund.
Not only might you be a good doctor, you’re one hair-splitting hell of lawyer.
Imma let you get back to your thread in a minute but first I hope everybody gets a look at “Turn” which premiered on AMC last night. Its a historically based drama about Washington’s Culper spy ring under British occupation. From the first show I’d say AMC has hit another home run.
I wish people would call it what it really is.

My husband watched it last night and LOVED IT — I was occupied with “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Those Who Kill”....

I thought Obama was trying to distance himself from it. A while ago the administration and media were referring it to only as the ACA.
No, they recently decided on a more aggressive approach: call it “Obamacare,” because apparently Obama is still popular among a lot of young voters; present it as something hip and cool that only the GOP grinches object to because, according to a speech by Obama this weekend, “Republicans don’t want people to have health care;” and get the private media to really push it and make it a sort of subliminal background to everything, but with a positive spin.
In other words, the WH is “doubling down” on it.
The rest of the Dems are delaying some of its more disastrous effects until after the elections so that they don’t have any more problems than they already have, but with the Obama media campaign, I bet you’ll find by the time November rolls around that most of the country will think Obamacare is wonderful. When you have a nation of people who get all of their information and beliefs from cheesy TV programs and hip-hop songs, propaganda is pretty easy.
