The older I get, the more impatient I get when it comes to plot development - an example to me was the recent “bubble/dome” fiasco “Under the Dome.” For “Resurrection” it is just bad writing. I could see this was going nowhere fast. I don’t have time to waste it on a bad rehost of an already existing plot line.

As an avid Stargate viewer, I watched Stargate Universe for several episodes, each getting more boring than the prior. It was not until the last two episodes that they (writers) actually went for broke and got creative (maybe they fired the initial writers, I don’t know). But by then, it was already cancelled.

The most enduring writer incompetency fiasco was “Lost” IMO. Original plotline, but mostly just drug-addled leaps of fantasy and aimlessness that finally had to be put out of its misery - ending in a classic, Bobby Ewing “It was all a dream sequence.”

All of the actors in that series should be banned from any future role or guest appearance IMO. Just for having been on that POS show.

I thought the same about the short-lived TV series "Awake". In the end, it was all a dream and a complete waste of viewing time.

Too many TV programs, especially, are made up as they go.

I recall an interview of the Doctor guy from "Lost" early during the first year. The host and he were talking about the surprising success of the series. The Doctor guy said they [cast and crew] expected it would go 3-4 episodes and then be cancelled. When it turned into a major success, the writers were frantic to pump out more episodes. [I quit watching about about 1.5 seasons, as it got pretty silly.]
